Comfortable

Pros: Close to food and shopping
I travelled on very short notice for a funeral and the rate was very good. Breakfast was enjoyable.

Housekeeping

The only issue I had was at 8:30 someone knocked on the door and not even 30 seconds later knocked on the door again and open the door. My daughter and I were still in there in bed. It would be wise for the cleaning crew to check with the front desk to see which rooms are available to be cleaned for the next person.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay. I agree it is annoying to have housekeeping bother you so early in the morning. I am not sure as you did not say if you had your " DO NOT DISTURB" sign out but if not it is alwys a good pratice if you intend to sleep in to do so. However; in case you did have it out I will pass your comments on to housekeeping. Glad you had a good stay. Hope to see you again soon!

Cons: Rooms are very old and need upgrading and cleaning.
Hotel was very noisy with pets and people partying. Rooms are in need of upgrade.

In general our hotel is a very quit place but during the summer we do receive a lot of group reservations for ball teams and it can and does get quite noisy.Please do not let this one bad experience keep you from staying with us in the future.

This is the 2nd note I've replied to about this stay. I really liked the spacious accommodations and the fact that it was 2 rooms with a door in between.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Stayed with friend for a week to party and get away. Stayed ONLY because they had smoking rooms. CONSTANT COPS DRUG RAIDS AND PROSTITUTION!!! Day and night everyday!!! Not a drop of fun. Bar is only open 4pm till 8pm. No breakfast as advertised. All around bad. Left a day early and went to state college.

Dear, Cystal, I apologize for any issues you had during your stay with us. Our staff works very hard to ensure that all of our guests feel welcome, have a clean room and enjoy their stay. It was very disappointing to hear that you were unhappy. I am not sure what you saw or thought you say in regard to police raids, prostitution or drugs but I can assure you that these things do not occur at our hotel. I am sorry if our pub hours did not fit in to your schedule. Our restaurant is open 4:30pm to 8:30pm Monday through Thursday and 4:30pm to 9pm on Friday and Saturday. The pub is open during the restaurant hours and general for one half hour after closing. Our Pub is caters to our restaurant guest and is not intended for late night entertainment. I do hope that your stay in State College was good and at least that portion of your weekend was enjoyable. Best Regards, Management and Staff

Mold on ceiling enough

Restaurant /bar not open because they were slow .I paid extra to stay there for no reason .mold on ceiling In the bathroom.will not go back everything the same as the old holiday Inn that they bought out 20 years ago

Had we know your were not satisfied with your room we would have been more than happy to move you to a room more to your liking. I apologize for restaurant being closed. As you know from staying here we are not a destination hotel and our business slows down during the holiday season. We have made significant changes to our guest rooms such as flat panel TVs, microwaves and refrigerators. We have future plans to replace the bedding and also add a breakfast room so that we can offer the Q Breakfast to our many guests. I thank you again for taking the time to comment on your stay.

Needs a major update

The check in process was a bit slow because the clerk was new. Very pleasant man though. The rooms are OLD and the rugs were sagging and seemed dirty. The beds seemed clean as did the old bathroom. We were stuck for a last minute place to stay after a night game at Penn State. Next time I'll book in advance in a nicer place. This wasn't cheap price wise but I would have expected to pay more for much nicer accommodations.
