Large modern business hotel. Reception don't bite.

We had booked a double bed but on arrival all they had were twin beds. Their explanation was that bed type is not guaranteed and that they have very few doubles. We decided to extend our stay and they did give us a double bed for the following night, though. Reception staff is remarkably surly and arrogant and definitely seem to look down on their guests. The hotel is sleek and very modern and in stark disagreement with its location in such a traditional city as Cáceres, so definitely better suited to business travellers than leisure ones. We would have preferred to try one of the hotels on the Plaza Mayor, which are in the middle of the action and probably more interesting. The hotel has a spa and we used it. It is a small spa with just a small shallow swimming pool, a steam bath (which the Spanish call a "sauna", don't be misled!) and a "contrast" shower, which we found ill-set and uncomfortable. Being of such a small size, the spa is usually used privately and needs to be booked in one hour slots, which are in short supply. I would suspect its cleanliness as the spa attendant actually discourages users from taking a shower before going in! The dining room has no windows and this was a shame as otherwise we could have seen sunrise at breakfast.
