We love Rota!!!

We love Rota! Our overall stay at the Duque was great! The room was very comfortable and the shower in the bath was amazing. The fact that we could open the door to the balcony and enjoy the sounds of the town and the sunsets as well as fall asleep to the sound of the ocean was great! The location put us within easy access of most everything. The internet connection could be improved and the lighting in the bathroom left much to be desired. That being said, the room was great and being able to open the door and listen to the sounds of the town was awesome! The church bells playing Christmas hymns was an added bonus. The food in the restaurants was excellent!!! Great stay!!! Would definitely stay again!!!

Unbeatable quality and value

An amazing hotel oozing quality and extremely high standards of customer service We will return soon but for more than one night, it is probably the best hotel we have stayed in throughout Spain

Nice Hotel close to Rota Navel Base

Pros: Ocean front, near marina with ferry service to Cadiz. Minutes from Naval base great amenities priced right great value, Better than expected
Location: Rota is clean small town lots to do within walking distance. The town of Cadiz is a short enjoyable ferry ride away and a nice inexpensive excursion.
We were looking for an upscale place to stay while visiting our son at the Rota Naval Base. Rota is clean small town lots to do within walking distance. The town of Cadiz is a short enjoyable ferry ride away and a nice inexpensive excursion. Across the plaza from the hotel is an interesting church very ornate, a small café and a bakery. The hotel bar and daily breakfast and dinner buffet are well worth the money with plenty of excellent selections.

Beautiful hotel right on the beach

Pros: Everything!
Cons: Limit the volume on the TVs - next room's kept us awake it was so loud
Location: Close to Cadiz and its attractions
Rota is a lovely old Spanish town with good facilities and interesting shops. There are plenty of bars and restaurants and the prices are generally lower than busier resorts. The hotel is in a prime location by the beach but also convenient for the old town. The room was large and well furnished and was spotless. The hotel has an excellent restaurant facing the beach and a very nice pool with sunbathing areas on two levels. Highly recommended.

TR review of HDDN

Noisy street from people coming from an Irish pub across the street from my room. Some irregularities on the billing (they marked me as having 2 people in the room and charged me for breakfast for 2 and something from the bar; all in error). This was eventually cleared up at the desk during check out. All in all, adequate stay at a reasonable value. I may choose to stay here again, but I would look at other options first.
