There was mold on the bathroom and bedroom ceiling. The place was very noisy all night, you can't sleep with the windows open. The staff was nice enough, the place was cleaned daily, and the location was great. A 2 min walk to the main street and 4 min to get to the old town. There was a fast food restaurant and a convenient store right behind the hotel. Its easy to find from the closest bus stop.

Comfortable, great location
This place is really great! SUPER clean, great location, great price, and the man who runs it is SO nice and helpful. I was very comfortable here. Be advised that there is only someone at the front desk during certain hours and outside of that you will need to call them on the phone. They will come promptly to help you but it’s just good to keep in mind. I was traveling here without local cell service and therefore needed someone else to call to have me let in when I arrived.

Close to old town. Bathroom had no window, poor ventilation and smelled musty. Very noisy at night as other guests arrived. Very thin walls, could hear everything in next door room.

A clean, basic, value for money hotel. Quick easy registration. Easy walk to the ferry, retaurants and shops. The bedroom door had to be wedged to stop the constant rattle. No English TV channel.

All is good and above average for such a small city. The room and private bath were clean, tidy, comfortable and relatively spacious. The staff person in particular was extremely nice and helpful. Very much recommended.

Clean and quiet place in Tarifa
Nice place in a great location. Each room had three beds, which was perfect for our family. Check in was easy and the staff was friendly. Wifi worked well and the room was quiet. We were able to easily walk all through town, to the grocery store, down to the beach, and to the bus stop. Very convenient after a trip to Tangier.

The hostal is actually a boutique style hotel with more than adequate amenities for a short stay. The front desk staff were very helpful.

Staff were very helpful. Hotel was easy to find and in a good location. No complaints and I would stay again. Tried to take a ferry to Tangier but too windy. Ferries weren’t going. Just FYI

Location was good, close to downtown, room was clean... nothing fancy, but had a clean bed and bathroom.... the only problem we found was that walls were too thin that you could listen to every si glue noice coming from neighbor rooms... which was not particularly attractive....

The host kindly accepted my last-minute reservation and waited for me until I arrived at ~11:30 PM. The room is very clean and comfortable. Great value.

The room was clean and modern and spacious. The TV is all in Spanish. There is parking on the street within reasonable distance if you have a car.

Good location
This hotel/hostel is located within a walking distance to a ferry terminal. They do not have their own parking, so you will need to park your car on a street (no charge). We were lucky to find a good spot not far from the hotel.

Not Safe
There is no parking at all. One has to find street parking and with a rental car, we never pick a hotel that claims that street parking is safe, not in Spain!. We checked in and when we went into the room, it wasn't made. We travel a lot, and this is a first! It gives you an eerie feeling. So, we were told that room will be ready in half an hour. We came back and this is the first time it happens to us again, we didn't feel good in Las Margaritas and we left and told the reception person that the parking situation wasn't good and that we had to leave and he wouldn't give us any adjustment. On Expedia, I remember reading that there was parking. I will call Expedia about this room when we get back to US.

We are sorry to hear this bad experience with us. We regret that we can not solve the parking problem in Tarifa. You can always make use of nearby public parking. As for the room, the next time you decide to arrive before check-in time (2:00 pm) we would like to know to give priority to your room. We apologize for the inconveniences. regards

floor was cold - but hey it was mid-January! However, the room's heating was adequate so we did not feel cold. Check in was easy. And a very useful map provided as standard.

A gem of a Hostal in Tarifa
This was a lovely hostal in Tarifa, it was in a great location to explore the town. It is close to cafe's, the old town and a short walk to the beach as well as the bus station. All of the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable.We had a balcony. We were a little early to check in but the staff kindly looked after our bags whilst we went for a walk and some food before checking in. We hope to return to Tarifa and would definitely stay at Las Margaritas again. We would also recommend to friend's if they were going to Tarifa.

Convenient hostel, close to the center of the city
Visited Tarifa to go to Tangier, the hostel is walking distance to port and historic center. The town is beautiful with many bars, restaurant and to shopping. People are friendly, great to visit.

Although clean the room was a little on the dark and cool side. The main lobby is small but breakfast is good. Pool is small but the hot tub is nice. They advertise a business centre. However it looked like just some chairs and a vaccum in a room. Not a business centre.I had booked this hotel as we were visiting family and friends in the area, but I had a work deadline and needed to get some computer stuff done. I had to to this at the breakfast area since my husband was sleeping in the room and business centre was... well... a room with a couple of chairs.

Great rate ($40) for a one night off-season
Nice, well situated clean motel (for the American reader) that was a perfect place at a great rate ($40) for an off season one day trip across to Tangier. Very nice staff. Clean as a whistle. Only thing mattress is REALLY firm. No soft top. Some like this. I prefer padded.
