Ideal location

This place is extremely convenient if you plan to do any of the cruises (ex. to the reef), it's literally in the same building so that you can walk instead of having to worry about transportation. There are also plenty of food options available within walking distance. The hotel had signs indicating that ants is a normal part of life in Carns, so we took extra precaution on not leaving any food waste in the trash can. The extra step of having to dump our food trash everyday was the only minor inconvenience we had. Overall, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Excellent location with spacious room

Booked a 1-bedroom apartment and the room was very spacious. The view is great facing the Hilton hotel but still can have a view of the sea. Just a few minutes walk to the cruise terminal, which would be a great choice if you would go for a cruise to the famous Great Barrier Reefs. Plenty of restaurants downstairs and there are still a lot of choices at the Esplanade.

Pros: Great position
Cons: The after hours noise coming from the nearby casino was not acceptable
Clean hotel in a great position Good size room Great shower!

Good apartment close to the Board Walk

Pros: Closeness to the Board Walk
Cons: Cleanliness and refurbishing inside the apartment
Location: Close to good restaurants and within easy walking distance to other eateries in the City centre.
The room was clean enough, but the little details such as the inside of the bed side table lamp not dusted for quite a long time, and a hair on the couch made me feel the apartment was not up to scratch. Also the furniture was rather dated and the whole apartment lacked a touch of luxury/tasteful decoration. It was functional rather than luxurious. My suggestion about cleaning: maybe four people cleaning one room at a time and then dedicate each person to clean certain area. I have seen this being done in one of the apartments I stayed in Canberra. It really worked well. They have cleaned each room very quickly and efficiently.

Requested room with water view got view of another building only water if looked off to the side of building. Furniture was old and room very unappealing. The whole experience was not pleasant for money paid.

Central, good views, rooms great

Pros: Staff were wonderful from front counter to cleaners - very friendly and thorough.
Cons: Room was a bit tired - carpet had had it but was told that this was being replaced very shortly with an update. Other than that GREAT.
Location: Exceptional on the wharf with proximity to boats for trips to the reef, restaurants from reasonable to up market, centre of Cairns city.
Very good, in the heart of town with views, on the wharf, suitable for families. Staff very good and friendly. Rooms comfortable and private. Proximity to nearly everything, boats for the Great Barrier Reef, restaurants, not far from train, movies etc. we had 3 adults and two kids 6 and 8 and got around very easily and they were never bored. Would recommend.

Wonderful location

Pros: Walking distance to all shops, restaurants and bars. Room is huge! The views were great no matter where your room is located.
Cons: Car park space is very limited 28 places for 80 rooms and is 1st in best dressed every day. Street parking is also very limited and is only up to 2 h
Location: Genuine harbourfront hotel. Extensive dining options within a short stroll. Lovely park and free wading pool close by.All the water tours are here too
We spent 6 nights here. Reception staff are totally awesome and will do their best to help you. I would rate the foyer 5 stars but only 4 for the room due to the issues mentioned below. Also, the cleaners are not big on replenishing hand soaps or toilet paper and 2 of our 3 towels had small wear holes in them. The oven door did not seal properly either. The shower had mold around the glass partition and corners. The coffee table was well knocked around with chunks missing. The mattress caused one to roll into the middle.

Great location

The apartment was spacious, overlooked Marlin pl, which was a quiet location. Close to everything, only complaint was lounge was uncomfortable. Must book parking as limited spaces.

Below expectations

From the outside, the hotel looks great. Once we got to our room, it smelled moldy. All the furnishings were run down and outdated, especially the carpet. I put my head down on one of the decorated pillows and it smelled dirty (like sweaty leftovers from one or lots of people). So I smelled all the pillows & they were all the same. We put the decoration pillows in the closet & asked the front desk for clean pillows. We were told there are no pillows available so we got towels and new bed sheets. We ended up wrapping the towels around the dirty pillows and covering it over with the pillow cases to mask the smell so we could sleep. The bed was old and uncomfortable as well but nothing could be done about it. Next day, my husband made a list and went back to the reception. A different person was there and she was really helpful. The stinky pillows were gone and they added padding to the bed. The moldy smell was masked with cleaning agents but it only lasted a day - we were there for 3 nights. Location is great (next to water & piers were boat excursions took place) and we had a great view from the room. Unfortunately room was unbearable.
