I absolutely loved my stay at Drift Palm Cove. This holiday was a solo trip and I felt very safe and like I had everything I needed in the apartment. Pool was stunning and massive so everyone had their own space. Perfect location - would definitely go back!

Overall Quite Good
Overall a good experience. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, comfy beds. Good options for family accomodation with multiple bedrooms and nice large pool. Most hotels in Palm Cove are within easy walking distance of anything you need eg: restaurant or supermarket and tour and transit operators pick-up/drop-off from here. The downside: the property is looking a little tired in some respects (rust/water stains) and the empty restaurants at the front (perhaps not formally part of the property) create a bit of a negative atmosphere. I appreciate that Covid and Cyclone Jasper impacted the area significantly. I’d consider staying again, but would also look at other options on return to Palm Cove.

Great location and the pool is phenomenal, you can swim in it all day and always find a patch of shade. Perfectly located in walking distance to everything along the Palm Cove esplanade. Will definitely stay here again.

Close to good food spots. Great pool. Just needs a little TLC to bring it up to a very good stay option. Our room had mouldy outdoor furniture which was not inviting and which we couldn’t use for the whole of over stay making outside eating, reading etc a non option.

Quite disappointing this time round. We have stayed at Drift a few times before as it is reasonably priced and comfortable for the family. This time however there was a lot of things that needed addressing however weren't in our 3 night stay- the spa wasn't working, the lift was out of order, when we got to the room the patio was dirty, the dishwasher was out of order, no tea towels, the toilet water kept running constantly, the stove top didn't work and very limited kitchen items. The check in was VERY slow. On the second night we couldn't get into our floor through the fire exit as the door handle on the outside has come out (and we couldn't use the lift as out of order). Was able to pry it open and then jimmy the door and lock so others weren't locked out. As it was 7pm there was no reception and I contacted the after hours however the solution was to put a hand written note on the door telling people to leave it open and it stayed there for the remainder of our trip. In saying all this, we were very understanding of the faults given the recent extreme weather event and wanting to support local tourism. Would still recommend a stay here as it has a great pool for families to hang at in the absence of the stinger nets at the beach. We have stayed in the same accom type (2 bedroom apartment) several times and it really just depends which room you are allocated as our first room was great, second room ok (bit smelly but otherwise fine) and this time round as many issues ;(
