ホテル付近のコウモリがひどかった。プールは夜暗く、整備されていないから泳ぎにくい。部屋のテレビが使えなかった。もう少し期待していたので、残念。

Beautiful hotel. Friendly helpful staff . Very relaxing . Swimming in the pool was always special.

Great staff great pool really good nutritious food

Excellent hospitable staff, great food and pool. Facilities great such as laundry, dining area, bar. Overall room could do with a little spruce, bathroom door needs replacing, maybe some new furniture. Overall would recommend Novotel to anyone and definetely visit again.

Excellent location. Walk everywhere..Hotel is older but has a nice atmodphere and great pool.

Do not be fooled by the high rating of this hotel!

As soon as my husband and I walked into the standard king room we booked for our 11 day honeymoon in Cairns, which varied between $180 and over $300 a night, we knew that we had been duped by the supposed high rating of this hotel we found on Expedia. The room was tiny, extremely outdated, and the bathroom was horrid. The shower rail holding up the head was loose and fell down continuously. When I attempted to open the glass wardrobe door to unpack it came off the tracks. I am extremely lucky that my husband caught it before it fell on top of me and caused severe injury. The wardrobe had spiders and cobwebs and was very dirty. My husband immediately complained at the front desk and was advised that we could not be moved that evening but the wardrobe would be fixed right away. This did not happen. We were unable to unpack which was a major inconvenience. Considering it was wet season we expected to spend some days relaxing in our room, using the gym, and dining at the hotel restaurant while it was raining heavily, but the substandard amenities of the hotel made this impossible. Plug-in Internet from $25 a day is absolutely ridiculous, the gym had 4 machines, 2 of which were broken, and the restaurant food is extremely overpriced for the pathetic portions and standard of food delivered. We were allowed to check out an hour later, which was good, but at no point were we asked how our stay was or we would have voiced all our concerns. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Good Location

Pros: Location close to Esplanade
Cons: Cleanliness and furniture
Location: Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby
Room was dirty on arrival and not cleaned very well when serviced daily, took a week to vacuum the floor, toilet had hairs from previous guests, Location was noisy beside pool area, Bed was old and uncomfortable, Staff seemed to be scarce, Dinner at restaurant was good,

Room and public areas clean but could do with a bit of maintenance and minor upgrading. Loose pavers on walk way to room probably due to rain. But very clean and pool area excellent, lots of shade and seating. Staff not friendly and didn't seem interested. Room key didn't work halfway through visit but finally sorted. No wifi in room but available in public areas. Overall location and amenities very good

Nice hotel but a little dated.

Pros: The hotel is within easy walking distance to the esplanade, bars and restaurants. The pool is excellent and the swim-up bar is a nice touch.
Cons: Free Wireless Internet access could be available in the room. The restocking of items in the room/bathroom.
We stayed in the Novotel for 6 days from 26th December. We took a taxi from the Airport to the hotel which cost around $18. The staff were helpful and our room was clean but a little dated. We chose a room with a King bed and pool view. During our stay we discovered a new game called 'what item has the cleaner not replaced today'... day1 - cups, day 2 - toilet paper...... The swim-up bar opens at midday till 5pm and we can recommend the cocktails (there is no surcharge for charging drinks or food to your room, even though we were told that there was). The hotel is in a good location. It is a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel to the casino and shopping centre and about a 5 minute walk to the esplanade. Free internet is only available in the lobby and you will have to pay to use it in your room. Overall it was a very enjoyable stay.

An unexpected Novotel standard.

Heavily overpriced for the facilities and service they offer. Especially the restaurant is far beyond a normal Novotel standard. Breakfast dishes are not clean, dinner service was significantly under staffed, kitchen could not keep up with the demand and the food was average. Overall it seems this hotel has passed its better days.

gute Lage

Pros: Lage, Poolbereich
Cons: WIFI auf dem Zimmer, mehr Sitzmöglichkeiten im Poolbereich, es sitzen alle Leute im Lobbybereich herum, um dort WIFI zu nutzen
Location: habe ich oben bereits beschrieben.
Hotel: 6 Stockwerke, mehrere Gebäude, Pool mit Sandstrand (viele Kinder).Nacht-Markt, Restaurants,Supermarkt, Obst-und Gemüsemarkt (Freitag bis Sonntag) nicht weit. Balkon zur Straße nicht nutzbar, aber zur Beobachtung der Flughunde interessant. WIFI nur in Lobby. Über Weihnachten war Poolbereich sehr voll (Hotel ausgebucht), Familien haben abends im Pool/Garten "gepicknickt, Tische/Stühle haben nicht ausgereicht. Vor Weihnachten und für Januar sind Bauarbeiten (daneben wird Aquarium gebaut) angekündigt, täglich bis 17 Uhr. An einem Tag hat das Hotelgebäude "gewackelt", die anderen Tage war es nicht so schlimm. Allerdings war dann auch "Weihnachtspause", es geht erst im Januar wieder weiter. mögl. Aufpreise pro Nacht: 28 AUD/Frühstück; 25 AUD/Internet; 7,50 AUD/Parken; 50 AUD Mikrowelle. Personal sehr freundlich, Zimmer ok. zwei breite Betten in Doppelzimmer, Minibar (Aufpreis), Teebeutel/lösl. Kaffee, Auflugs-Info/Buchungsstand im Hotel (wie auch außerhalb in jeder Ecke), Busbahnhof um die Ecke, Mitwagenfirmen um die Ecke, etwas entfernt ist eastcoastcarrentals.com.au (kann ich empfehlen). Cairns hat keinen Strand, dafür Lagune (großes Freibad ohne Eintritt, direkt am Meer). Ausflüge zum Great Barrier Reef, Cairns Zoo, Hardleys Crocodil, Port Douglas sollten zeitlich eingeplant werden.
