Check in took 4 phone calls on our arrival at about 7pm, the room hadn’t been made up, the kitchen and bin area were not clean. The main security door which was very heavy to the car park wasn’t working so had to be slid across manually.

Needs some love!
There was sooooo much fluff and dust on the walls. Some of the tapes were very loose. The a/C units must have been here since Cook landed. The complex is dated and tired.

The place was nice and clean. The laundry washer worked great but the dryer didn't work to great. Some one before us didn't clean out the filter so it would over heat and had to let it rest before it would work but I finally was able to get what we needed done.

This unit is owned by a mgmt company. No response to my inquiry for check in information. The building and unit are filthy. Run down, piles of dirt and spots on building floor. Dust so thick in apt I could write my name in it. The only plus- location and washer/dryer I have pictures to back up my claim.

We are repeat users of this place because we like its Villa design and feel, room layout and kitchen, pool, central area with palms, walking distance to city shops and other activities. Excellent parking facilities. However as most people are travelling it would be more hospitable if the owners provided at least one free sachet of washing powder and the new rule that you cannot use your room towels at the pool but must pay a hire charge for a pool towel seems unnecessary. Provision of salt and pepper sachets would be useful too. Also the dusting is never done in places like behind the tv and door tops etc. These small issues prevented a top score and despite these small issues we would return again.

My room could not be secured. The front door was broken and I was told that It would not be fixed until after I checked out. I had to store my valuables somewhere else

We arrived at 6pm. No reception. Our key was left out in an envelope. Parking gate locked. Room was not clean and the shower was leaking water very noisily. After ringing our host, she arrived and kindly put us into another room. Wouldn’t go back

We liked the layout of the unit .. but we were very disappointed it needed a good clean. Bathroom was dirty and mouldy. Front entry door was mouldy pathways leading up and down to car park needed cleaning.

Villa Vaucluse
Villa Vaucluse is conveniently located in downtown Cairns, close to the Esplanade, the Aquarium and the new Entertainment Centre. It is adequately furnished but could do with an update. The kitchenette is handy even if the dishes dont match. The Air con is effective and quiet. The apartments are accessed via stairs at the front door and some rooms require a further climb - not pleasant with heavy luggage. However, the apartment is safe and quiet. Management/reception is open for short hours, which is a little hard to fathom and could be a problem if you arrive late and havent made prior arrangements on how to enter the complex which is closed at 7.30pm. Tours can be booked via reception.

Was handy as an apartment in the city and close to lots shops and attractions. Unfortunately we never saw anyone at reception to book tours or obtain advice on attractions. Very strict about check out time and loud banging on door at sharp 10am. Bedding was very poor and towels were worn out and tiny. We stayed for 7 days and not a single room service during that time. If you are looking for comfort then this is not the right place.

Sorry about your noisy night, usually very quite but if the room placed close to city side sometimes can be noisy. But pool side room is alright even at the night time. Shocking! How they can call this luxury, no underlay under sheet which was fixed but nothing done about the filth of the room which I also complained about, pointed out a windowsill which was covered in dead flies and that was all the cleaned day after checking in!

Convenient accommodation.
Very comfortable place to stay, lots of room and close to everything in Cairns. Limited English speaking staff although they did their best to help. Our uni5 could hav3 been cleaned better before we checked in.

On arrival room not ready. I needed to change into cooler clothes. The receptionist offered me a toilet to change in at back of car port. When I checked into room I was .et with a mouldy smell and filthy black dust, grease on rangehood, dirty lint in dryer with a pair of someone else's underwear. There was no response from an email and didn't get a new room until the next day at 3pm. The next room was clean and fresh. I ended up leaving a day early as the whole experience ruined my cairns stay. This accommodation was rated as luxury!

Nice location and quiet. Unable to make ourselves understood by receptionist therefore forced to book local tours elsewhere so unable to get discounts on arranged trips. Unable to resolve any problems if they arose eg we had a light bulb that needed replacing and this didn’t happen that’s ok but if a bigger problem occurred not sure how it would have been resolved.

Office closed up until 8.45 on day of departure when should have opened at 8am. Kitchen tap broken. TV remote broken but did get fixed. Roller door remote only worked if you left your car and stood beside the door to open it.

The rooms were spacious and the room amenities were good with a washer and dryer in the room making it good place to stay for a long holiday. Location was within walking distance to everything you need. We arrived later thank expected but everything was left for us at the front reception with good instructions to how to find the room.

Great location, close to main hub in Cairns. Walking distance to shops etc. Secure undercover parking. Lovely pool and BBQ area, though would be busy/cramped in high season. Had a pool view room - definitely a plus! Aircon not working, but quickly fixed, and the flat batteries replaced in the remote control. Washing machine broken, but not fixed before we left. Repeatedly asked for milk, to no avail. Nice staff, but not as attentive as they should be. Would return, but be certain of getting things sorted efficiently.

Basic. Linen was clean but the blanket was yellowed and unwashed, the kitchen and glassware were all dirty, and the shoewr curtain had mould stains. After we raised this, they did give us a free night's accommodation, and replaced dirty items with clean ones but the kitchen (greasy rangehood, inside of cupborads etc), and general dust everywhere are still not up to standard for the price.
