They need new mattresses and Pillows
I didn’t like the way the mattress smelled, they need new mattresses, If you use Uber you have to insist they pick you up from the hotel, the neighborhood is called the City of the Dead and it does appear to have a lot going on. Do not get into Taxi cabs you didn’t reserve online or get out of a Uber in a location other than your hotel, one Uber driver eventually had to admit that I was directing him to the correct hotel after he wanted to drop me off somewhere else, I’d walk up to the Main Street the night before and noticed the businesses that were at the corner of the street and that how I was able to safely make it back to the hotel. You can’t use your debit card anywhere near the hotel, Uber to the grocery store, there are businesses in these neighborhoods in Egypt that will allow you to use your debit card, you need to use your debit card rather than Egyptian money so that if something were to happen, the bank can advise where you were spending money last, I used Uber to go to the grocery store twice while staying there. You can hear talking all night some nights in the neighborhood and there some sort of religious belief that are communicated multiple times of day and night using loud speakers. I also didn’t like the way the pillow smelled.

Unfortunately, I had a disappointing experience overall! Egyptian Oriental Breakfast was not served as it's advertised for. Some of the staff members was rude, disorganized and lack professionalism. All they care for is money. (Others were friendly though). Smoking cigarettes is allowed in all rooms and you can smell the sting of it creeps in to your room. Some guests were loud almost all night no one bothered to inform them to be considered of other guests sleeping. No quality service whatsoever. Location is good that's about it. I won't be repeating my stay.

Abbas truly is incredible and made my trip to Egypt even more enjoyable. The location is somewhat hidden so it was nice to be away from the busy streets and the rooftop was also a nice perk as well.

The costumer service was fantastic. Ayman was a decent, kind and helpful person. The property was pretty clean and well organized. The hotel is in a walking distance from Islamic Cairo. My favorite part was the free breakfast. There was plenty of food and was so yummy. I highly recommend Arabian nightd hotel.

Pleasant experience at Arabian Nights.
Just had a good and memorable 3 week stay in Egypt at Arabian Nights hotel. The location is great; situated right in the heart of Old Cairo and close walking distance to many local facilities and even a few popular tourist sites. Staff members were also friendly and helpful, promptly responding to any problems we had. Our morning breakfast was really nice with both options (Arab/continental) sufficiently varied and tasty. The room itself was comfortable and decent in size, while the WiFi generally worked well during our stay too. Overall, great value for money. Considerations/improvements: the local area isn't the cleanest and has several stray cats/dogs, which cause noise during the night that can be a nuisance for sensitive sleepers. The shower cubicle only has a partial screen, which results in water spillage onto the main floor after a shower. The fridge/cupboard were usable, but ideally could do with replacing.

Very poo, despite what it says this is not a hotel its a hostel. its down a really shody road and the rooms we were given were dirty, bathrooms weren't the best. stayed 1 night out of seven and switched hotels. The staff however were really helpfull and polite and even helped us look for another hotel. but would only recommend for backpackers or people just looking for a place to crash for the night.

I have stayed at this hotel ten days. This is an older hotel that is very well kept and superbly managed. In my experience they really care for there patrons and do the best they can to accomodate their needs. The location is excellent; close to freeways and walking distance to Al Azhar university.

Brilliant staff and hotel!
The hotel staff collected me from the airport. They were waiting at arrivals for me, which was great. My room was huge and very clean. Couldn't hear any noise from the street and the air conditioner was a welcome feature! The shower had hot water available 24 hours a day (a rare treat in Cairo!) and the bathroom was immaculate (western style toilets). Breakfast was cooked up in a few minutes and the hotel staff were always on hand with advice. They helped secure taxis for my journeys. They were very honest and did things out of the goodness of their heart and not for tips; this really set them apart from other hotels in the area. The hotel proximity to tourist sites of interest is brilliant and everything is within an easy 10 minute drive (Azhar park, the Citadel and the National Museum). There are currency exchange shops nearby and a pharmacy next door. Really enjoyed my stay here and look forward to another stay in the not too distant future!

Fantastic customer service and location
Excellent location! A quick 10 minute taxi ride to the Citadel, Azhar park and the Sultan Hassan mosque. Khan Khalili market is a mere 5 minute walk away (through the easy-to-navigate amd safe back streets). The staff at the hotel are fantastic. We had airport pick up and drop off service, which was on time, quick and easy. Muhammad is an asset to the hotel and went out of his way to help us during our stay. The staff are fluent in several languages, namely English, Spanish and German, which was very useful. The ensuite room was very spacious and clean. We had new bedsheets and toiletries upon arrival. Breakfast was filling and there was always someone in the reception area, for help. The shared toilets, landings and lobby area are very, very clean and I look forward to staying here again very soon!

Not the ideal hotel for a couple!
Me and my partner were rather disappointed to be honest with the overall service of the hotel. We had requested for a private bathroom and double bed for ourselves but had to end up sharing a bathroom with other hotel occupants and sleep on two single beds joined together. According to the hotel manager, we had requested for a shared bathroom, which is not true, perhaps there had been a misunderstanding on their behalf. Nonetheless, the manager ensured us that he will provide us with a room w/ bathroom and double bed the following day after we had checked in but that wasn't the case. The next day he started saying that only if a room becomes available with these facilities and that he could not guarantee this to us. So we just gave up approaching them after that and we did not hear from them about this matter again. The bathroom facilities were really unhygienic, the chef during breakfast time smoked with one hand while making breakfast with the other, the kitchen too was very unhygienic, my wife stopped having breakfast after the first day of experiencing all this! The blankets/ duvets, bed sheets and bath towels were also very old and stained.

Good staff, good value.
The staff is wonderful. Very helpful and nice. Made sure we did not get ripped of. Gave great advice about where to go/how to get there and set up a very safe and inexpensive personal driver. As for the room... You get what you pay for. Good value for money and great for people traveling on a budget. Breakfast on the rooftop was lovely. Just know you aren't paying 4 seasons prices, you aren't going to be staying in a 4 seasons room. Overall, not too bad.

WARNING WARNING WARNING
Overall, the hotel is hardly worth the amount paid to stay. Double the price and stay somewhere ten times as nice. They offer round-trip transportation to the airport. This is an outright lie. Because of a reduction in tourists, they no longer offer this service.

In Pre-Election Cairo: a City of Contrasts
Well, for a budget motel in Cairo, I was very pleased. It was in a pretty run-down area near Khan Khalili, but the night manager was superb, helpful, considerate, and accomodating. I did have a problem in the morning trying to get my breakfast, and there were ants in the upstairs seating area. Cairo is kind of a rough, unkempt city, so I don't know how much to be appalled by or surprised by. The hotel was extremely clean: showers, floors, sinks, bedding, etc., so that was marvelous. There was a very affordable, delicious take-pizza eaterie just down the street, not a nice place to linger at for long, as there were rabid dogs and stray cats, but to watch the local Egyptians smoking their nargileh and watching the news and soccer games was culturally interesting.

The Arabian Hostle in cairo
First time staying in hostle. The location was excellent. Most of staff friendly and charming owner. BUT: -24 Hours reception: NOT true, the staff were sleeping on sofas -The place was very run down and facilities in private rooms were very dirty, no atempt to be cleaned -noisy, staff shout from downstairs to 4th floor - Our tea at breakfast used to take 25 minurtes, when asked the reason, was told we don't have enough cups... - sheets missing from our beds - blankets missing from my children room - Driver to Alexandria was told he could speak English, but this was not the case - No Sufi dancing - The hostle was adjacent to an empty that was used to dump refuse, hence full of flies...

Basic and friendly
Basic facilities, but very helpful and friendly staff. My travelling companion had to change rooms in order to achieve fully-functioning plumbing, but there was plenty of hot water! Some of the electrical appliances seemed to have a purely decorative function, but any problems raised were dealt with, with plenty of good humour. As long as you have a laid-back attitude it's a great place to stay, with a mixture of foreign guests (mainly youngish, student-types) and some Egyptians.

A wonderful experience of Egypt
To keep my comments in perspective, few points must be kept in mind. Do not compare it with luxury hotels as it is a hostel. I was not looking for a deluxe luxury hotel but was interested in getting the feel for the city and its culture. They have basic breakfast which is good enough to start your day. The staff was very helpful. Muhammad was very helpful and I am biased as we became friends due to his hospitality. he took care of all the trips and sight seeing. When the staff will greet you with welcome home on your return from a day trip, it would make you feel at home. The room is basic. If privacy is important you can ask for a private bath rather than shared bath. My tour guides Sarah and Gad were knowledgeable. Hasan and Ahmad accompanied me to many places.

Excellent Place to stay
It was located in an area where you can have access to all the tourist attractions. The staff are very nice and friendly, they make you feel as though you are part of the Egyptian culture and family. They also have an optional tour guide. The staff is extremely accomidating to your needs. I would recommend this hotel to people who want to travel with limited funds. i also recommend this hotel to students and young people.

Friendly authenticity...
Had an absolutely wonderful stay here. I was quickly on first name terms with all of the staff and owner. Nothing was too much trouble and they are always willing to help and advise. Location is surprisingly quiet , despite being walking distance to Khan il Khalili and a short cab to downtown... Arabian Nights is located in the more genuine district of Islamic Cairo which I recommend experiencing... My room was beautifully recently renovated, fully air conditioned. I had opted for a shared bathroom which was also fine, constant hot water etc... Staff were always on hand to help, or just for a cup of tea and friendly chat, any time. Will definitely stay here again when I return!

I would love to go back, but done Cairo, Luxore next.
For a One star Hotel it was satisfactory this was collective opinion from 3 people who stayed at this Hotel, Continental breakfast could have been upgraded with Egg, toasts etc with more option, Tissue for the bathroom and cleaning product highly recommended, but the cleaners have done well to keep the whole hotel clean. Some rooms had small problems and did not have many ventilation but we did not have any problems changing the rooms. However the staff were extremely helpful (high praise goes to Mostafa and Mohammed one who has been to America both were stand in Porters). Hotel also do excretion trips with reasonable information. The Porters were always helpful, making us teas and coffees when ever we wanted. They have a lovely roof where you can smoke Shisha and have your food. The Porter can call you a cab or order food from GAD (very reasonable prices not far from the market and all priced). The Hotel is located off the main road, there are shops which sales drink and other savoury stuff just to your left when you come out of your Hotel (for 2litre water cost us 2EP V. cheap).

Good location for exploring Old Cario. Everything within walking distance. If you are interested in a no frills, with no extras this is the place for you. We liked the hotel because it gave us an authenic egyptian experience. The free breakfast was a little skimpy. Order the egyptian breakfast for a few egyptian pounds, very filling. For the price it's what we expected. The staff was very helpfull. We would stay there again.
