A far cry from Kempinski hotels

Posted Aug 23, 2015
First room we were given was not the room we booked online (Deluxe twin bed Nile view). Apart from that, it was seriously lacking in proper hygiene and cleanliness. Carpet was alarmingly filthy and black around the corners. Furniture blotchy and stained. Towels were used to the state of an embarrassing shade of grey instead of bleached white. Next room did redeem them a little although it was not perfect. We had to ask for every little detail that was meant to be already in place according the standards we were used to at Kempinski hotels. Very disappointing considering we are very loyal to Kempinski internationally. Although management was very helpful towards the remainder of our stay to improve our experience, we still had to ask for clean tea and coffee cup replacements EVERY DAY!! Everything took ages to arrive upon request from reception. At the end of the day, although a few staff members were helpful and threw in a complimentary breakfast for ONE person, this experience has definitely tarnished my relationship with Kempinski hotels. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who considers hygiene and service a priority.

More of a 4* Hotel

Posted Aug 18, 2015
If you are looking for a 5 Star experience, I don't think this hotel will meet you expectations. I would rate it more towards a 4 * hotel. Lobby and hotel entrance isn't what I'm used to in 5 Star Hotels. Overall nice. Location is very good. Staff is excellent!. Rooms are small but offer a good view of the Nile. Photos of the rooms on the website are exaggerated in my opnion.

Excellent and quiet rooms with beautiful beds. Very friendly and helpful staff . Only drawback is that everything on the hotel is small, from rooms to corridors etc

Pros: The turkish restaurant is amazing, the swimming pool area is ideal to relax in after a long day of sightseeing
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Right by the Nile, walking distance to the Egyptian Museum
Excellent location, staff very friendly. Comfortable beds.

Nice surprise: upgraded to a suite

Posted Jun 22, 2015
At my arrival I've got a surprise: I was upgraded to a suie, wish was very comfortable. The breackfast was generous and very tasty. Personell very kind, but the room service was a little bit slow. Nice and safe place to stay in Cairo, good location.

Great Service, Dirty Rooms

Posted May 9, 2015 on Hotels
Hotel is fine. Rooms are dirty, dirty dirty. This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel in 3 weeks. Different rooms and pigsty. Light bulbs burned out, carpets very dirty and bugs and dust in the corners. This is not Kempinski quality. The hotel manager and housekeeping must change this.
