I liked how the hallways had diffusers to freshen the smell of the space and also the mini lounge on the premier floor where I stayed. However, the 24hrs buffet restaurant needs a lot of upgrading. The staffs didn’t cover their mouths and were talking over the food and I always had to order alarcate instead of eating from the buffet. Poor hygiene with food.

Hotel really nice and clean. I do highly recommend it. It tends to make you feel a bit uneasy with all the security measures. Barrier to enter complex ,l luggage booth inspected, bags through screening.

You must manage your own luggage, be prepared for everyone to have their hand out for tips, for doing nothing, and don't expect to just tip in EGP, they don't want EGP they want US Dollars. You might think you are in Egypt, but everyone wants US dollars. They will quote you prices in US dollars and frown if you have EGP, their country's currency. Do not expect any customer service. Expect to not be able to check in until late, and you will be pushed out of your room early! The fruit bowl you might expect from a 5 star hotel will be rotten. Better get breakfast in the short window they provide, or else you will wait and wait to get a breakfast box! Don't expect any level of customer care or service, other than from the random trainee, who hasn't yet been broken into the way they run this "motel"-style transient stopover.

This property was a 5 star hotel during the Cuban missile crisis. It has a 70’s vibe about it and everything feels like it’s that old! The lobby is decent looking. The smell of cigarette smoke permeates throughout. The corridors leading to the rooms have dark, fairly dirty carpets. Our rooms had very dated furniture and a distinct and rather overwhelming dank musty smell. Almost certain that if we looked behind the walls we would find mould growth. This place is certainly not one I would recommend for an extended stay. We had essentially a one and a half day stop over here and for that short of a period, given its very close proximity to the airport it served its purpose. The staff are nice, usually overly polite because they are trying to score tips (and there is nothing wrong with that). That said, I did see one of the security guards try to extract a bribe out of the tour bus driver who had to pick us up in the evening for our Nile river cruise. The driver was in a long very serious conversation with guard who had possession of the drivers documentation. It was not until we walked up to them and made a bit of scene about getting late that the security guard acquiesced and returned the tour bus driver’s documentation to him. The driver confirmed in the bus that the guard wanted 50 LE for no apparent reason. Unbelievable that this is happened in a so called “5” star establishment.

We stayed just one night in between flights and was super convenient. They picked us up with a shuttle and dropped us back. The restaurant was opened until late and the staff were really kind. The room was comfortable and good conditions.

Disliked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities
One of the first things I do upon entering a hotel is to look along wall where the carpet meets the trip. I've found it's a good indicator of how clean the hotel is in general. As soon as I got to my floor and looked down, my worries started. The carpet was not only filthy along the edges but even in the middle of the carpet. I thought, okay, maybe it's just high traffic and Egypt has a lot of sand so I'll it pass. However, when I got into my room (after waiting in hall for 5 minutes because they hadn't finished cleaning it), I was met by an unpleasant smell (stale/musty air coming from the air ducts perhaps?) as well as mold on the tiles in the bathroom. I think the mold on the tiles was the worst part- you shower but still feel dirty. I know this isn't a five start hotel and wasn't expecting luxury. However, I was expecting a minimum standard of upkeep and cleanliness. it was disappointing to see that the standards of this hotel have fallen so low. In addition, when I came in in the the morning to drop my bag off and then again at check in time, wasn't greeted by typical Egyptian hospitality and light heartedness. I was ignored for the first 5 minutes (this is with no one in front of me) and then greeted with a look of annoyance and a very short 'Yes' (a shortened form of how can I help you?!). Again, I'm not expecting to be fawned over or given red carpet treatment but having someone acknowledge you with a smile and a "I'll be right with you" goes a long way.
