Schönes Hotel in Innenstadtlage

Posted May 3, 2016

Good hotel but needs more cleaning

Posted Apr 25, 2016
The hotel is great. Great location. Great view of the Nile. Great staff. The issue is the quality of the bathroom. It's not cleaned well so the shower floor looks bad. The toilet paper dispenser was rusty in some parts and the hair dryer was covered with some sort of oil as if it was egg yolk. Attention to detail is needed. The furniture looks all modern but it's all mass produced and very cheap like IKEA. The breakfast is great but the waiters lack remembering to bring coffee for example otherwise the food is great. I think the hotel is a bit expensive for the quality. The rooftop restaurant has a obligatory minimum charge of 100 Egyptian pounds per person which is ridiculous if you just want to have an afternoon tea. This isn't just here at this hotel but at most higher-end places. Egypt Tourism Ministry...get your act together or this beautiful country will keep staying behind thinking its already too posh and fancy for everyone who can't afford an obligatory minimum charge.

Bien situé vue splendide sur le Nil...

Posted Feb 13, 2016

Ideal downtown Cairo hotel

Posted Jan 11, 2016
Pros: Location. Value for money. Breakfast. Clean, decent size, functional room.
Cons: Not much. This place is 'fit for purpose' and asking for more would increase the price and make it then same as the 5 stars nearby. No point in that.
Location: All central Cairo attractions are walkable from here. Exactly on the river and next to a bridge, so it's ideal.
The Novotel is the best choice if you want adequate standards in the centre of the city without paying 5 star prices. The location is perfect, just across the bridge from Tahrir (and the antiquities museum); adjacent to the opera, bang on the Nile for great views and access to riverside walks or boats. The hotel is a straightforward 3/4 star. No fancy décor, bedroom are comfortable and functional. One restaurant which really only serves breakfast (which is very good btw) plus a nice roof terrace for f&b and views. Free wifi worked perfectly every time. Staff were helpful although untrained in security (they have a screening gate on the door but ignore the people walking through and beeping! - but that's normal in Egypt so I can't single out this hotel for this failing). I recommend paying the slight extra for a Nile view room for great views of the river - see pics attached here, taken from our 4th floor non-smoking room.

Nice hotel in Cairo close to Egyptian museum

Posted Dec 30, 2015
All personnel speaks English. The room was always clean and neat. The housekeeper always wanted to know if there was anything else they could do for us. One day we found flowers as a thank you.! The museum is walking distance and the Cairo tower. The Nile river is walking distance. The hotel is is downtown Cairo spect a lot of traffic. But rooms are quite no noise from outside. The breakfast was very good.a lot of choices.
