Excellant hotel with great view of the Nile.

Pros: The comfort of the rooms.
Location: Right on the Nile. Egyptian Museum, river cruises, and even the pyramids of Giza are all very close to the hotel.
The hotel was more than what we were looking for. We asked for, and received, connecting rooms which made it so nice to spend the evenings together as a family. The view of the Nile was spectacular and the close proximity to the Egyptian Museum was perfect. The only negative was the timing of our stay. It landed during the "feasting" period of the end of Ramadon. The town was crazy and so was the noise and yelling during all hours of the night. But nothing the hotel could have prevented. Overall it was a beautiful hotel and we would stay there again if we go back to Cairo.

Views from the heart of Cairo

Amazing views all day arround from the center of cairo so you can see all arround. With easy access to places like down town and Islamic cairo. The pool was under maintenance for the duration of my stay but they didn't tell me when i did the booking, other than this every thing was good.

Overall a great stay. Very helpful staff, and great location. Plus, the breakfast buffet was exceptional!! Everything you could possibly want to eat. I was a little bit disappointed that they didn't upgrade us ( even after I asked if it was possible ) because it didn't look like the hotel was very busy. oh well. Guess you can't win them all

Epitome of Hospitality

Pros: The breakfast was quite comprehensive, the view - to die for, the staff - on point! Particularly Mr Saeed.
Cons: Can't think of anything from the top of my head.
Location: The location is ideal for peaceful relaxation, the view magnificent for photos of the Nile and night skyline.
This was my first time travelling to Egypt. I was escorted by my wife, on our honeymoon. We had plenty of doubts, but once we managed to check into our room, we started looking forward to the whole experience :)

Great BUT....

Checking in and out was quick, hospitable and professional staff. Resturants in the hotel overseeing the Nile are great. Downside, though, is getting in and out from the hotel through the main gate. It's only one way, and it wasn't comfortable at all cuz of the traffic, and the the time you'd waste waiting for your ride.

Club room

A great stay in the club room. Although, the 'happy hour' was only 5.30-7.30 and they said we were only allowed three drinks each! Lovely pool and really relaxing atmosphere!

Probleme : Le doorman nous fait payer le taxi, venat de la rue, 5 fois plus cher que le prix normal. Indecent pour un Sofitel. Une mafia....
