Beautiful property. Staff in lobby totally ignored us. Watched us struggle to lift suitcases down stairs, watched us pull suitcases outside then one employee approached us to load luggages into taxi. We declined his help and told him that they ignored us while we struggled, why pay attention to us now? For a tip?

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Cleaning occurred regularly. Restaurant selection was excellent. Security was excellent. Access to pool was excellent. The rooms were a bit dated and air con could have been slightly stronger. But beds were comfortable. Wifi signal not very strong. Overall this was well worth the money and I would definitely stay there again.

Staff is very rude, expect attitudes. No where to get food later in evening (was refused even just a cup of water for a 7 year old). Very snarky attitudes. Don't get a massage- avoid the spa. Husband and I had a very hard time getting an appointment ('we have availability at noon.... Actually 1... Oops sorry there's a "problem with the room come back at 5pm" ---literally for about 4 separate attempts). Spa staff was nasty, audible gasps and sighs, yelling at each other in Arabic. It was apparent they didn't want to do services. Manager there was nice but his staff are horrendous. Worst massage I've ever had, very unprofessional. No blanket to cover myself, the masseuse left me alone several times with no explanation. She also gave me a head massage (I paid extra) and I had severe head pain through the following day as she had ripped out a great deal of hair while knotting my hair during the attempted "massage". Horrible. Warned the group I was with to not book their services.

My stay at Sonesta Hotel was excellent. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would rate this hotel as a 5 star hotel. It had 4 restaurants and a bakery separate from the casino.

where is the bed?
Arrived near 11 PM after 30 hours of travel and it took 1.5 hours to deliver a mattress slab for our triple room. Plus several phone calls to remind them. There were only 2 bath towels even though we had a room for three. I had booked the room for three months ago and there is a premium charge.

The hotel was able to accomodate our super early check-in, of course with a fee, as we arrived very early in the day due to the flight awkward time. We had an issue with the room that was assigned to us but upon discussing it with the staff, and customer service, they were able to move us to a better room. I recommend Sonesta to travelers going to Cairo.

Good hotel not my first time to stay in it. It seems that the rooms are not consistent in their quality even of the same category (queen superior room). We arrived very early in the day, flight from Toronto landed at 6am, so we were at the hotel at 9am, it was not easy to get a room that early, we needed it t get some rest after the 11hrs flight. The hotel crew was able to fin a room for us by 10:30 am.

The hotel appears to be old worn and torn. Carpets in the room. It may have been a beautiful once but now it really looks outdated and not really worth its price. Its location is not very good for anything except airport transfer. However some of the staff made the stay more memorable with their smiles and happiness.

It’s definitely not a 5 star hotel. The first room given to us was on the 2nd floor and it was absolutely disgusting. There were white stains on and around the bed and lamp stand, the lamp head was out of place, the floors were so dirty you couldn’t walk without shoes, and the room was very hot and dusty you needed a mask to breathe safely. We complained and they said they’d give us a better room. After an hour of waiting we were extremely fed up and spoke to them again. They weren’t taking us seriously until we showed photos and spoke with them a THIRD time (extremely upset), at which point they gave us a new room within 5 minutes. The new room was cleaner but still had little spots and stains but we just wanted a room. They said they’d send bellhop to get our bags but after 10 minutes of waiting I went and got the bags myself. The hotel is generally run down and in dire need of renovation. Customer relations would call us every other day to make sure we weren’t having other issues and sent us a fruit basket, which was nice. We did have other issues though, I had to go to concierge every day 4-5 times to reprogram my card because the door wouldn’t unlock. We eventually ended our stay and went to a different hotel.

Very rude staff We reserved two rooms with two double in each we got two rooms with single bed in each, the staff said this is what’s available. The staff kept arguing that my 13 years old son is an adult and that we should pay extra money After 24 hours trip we spent one hour waiting at the front desk to find some one to check us in. Awful service.

no hot water reported it to reception 3 different times, was told it will be fixed shortly. couldnt shower on arrival or before bed or in the morning had to take a cold shower before check out as it was my last chance for one before travel. they wouldn’t allow me to have visitor (whom I had brought some gifts in my luggage from my travel) as it was “outside visiting hours” they humiliated my guest until they confirmed that I am a foreign national- then and only then was it okay- but after his ID was kept. incredibly dissatisfied with this stay I should have booked yet another night at Safir- I figured I’d get closer to the airport since my partner had to leave to the airport at 4 am(before i did later that day). not to mention for the same nightly rate breakfast is not included. Myriam was the only professional out of the reception staff. respectful, understanding, communicative. I will be contacting customer service in regards to not being able to shower at a “5 star hotel”.
