Quiet in April, very pleasant

Stayed here five nights April 2016 with my six year old. Not many guests but still great kids club activities and it was warm enough for the Splash pool a couple of the days. Indoor pool the rest! Food choices in the restaurants felt limited for a child, and there was not much in the way of fresh ingredients in the nearby shops if you went self catering. No fresh meat or fish and not even red peppers or green veggies.Mostly pre packed meatballs, wurst etc. You would have to go to the Cala Rajada Lidl or similar for proper food shopping. We ended up eating in the restaurants for lack of fresh things to cook, but although the adult choices were fine, my child did not want them and subsisted off the pasta based options.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, coups not then our the hotel itself which wad lovely, great location by beach, beautiful quiet seeing. I bet it gets busy in summer though.
I would recommend a hire car if you are staying here, pick up from their airport or Cala Ratjada which is a twelve euro taxi trip away. A car gives you plenty of dining and shopping options as they're is nothing in Cala Mesquida itself.
Overall a great trip and there were no problems. Nice pools, plenty for kids to do in the kids club, pleasant surroundings for the adults. Great beach, no nearby night life which suited me perfectly. Evening entertainment in the bar was fine. I think next time I will just go all inclusive, or else pick up a big shop on the way there!
