Good location-short drive to great hiking, beaches

Decent rooms for decent prices

First stay, we were very pleased. Room was very spacious and we felt like the price was incredible. Our second, most recent stay, we paid more and had a significantly smaller room. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Close to Malibu with Malibu prices.

Pros: Location, cleanliness, nice staff, feels a bit like home.
Cons: Put more towels in the rooms, especially in the 2 queen bed rooms. Widen the parking spaces. Monitor noise. Replace wallpaper and remove mold.
Location: The grocery store is right down the street, as well as Starbucks, a few restaurants, and gas stations. Malibu is a short drive through the canyon.
We've been going to this hotel for over 14 years now. Everything is pretty much the same except we were unpleasantly surprised to see the jacuzzi had been filled in with dirt and a palm tree. This is something we were not aware of before our visit. Because we've always looked forward to the jacuzzi, we were disappointed. The wallpaper in the bathroom was lifting and there was visible black mold under it. The walkways were narrower than what i recall, and it was very difficult to get past the maid carts with luggage. The people in the room next to us were extremely loud and yelling in the middle of the night. The lines in the parking lot were misleading as they didn't match up with the concrete blocks. They were way too close together. The bathroom sink was slow to drain.

Horrible experience

Price quoted by reservation staff on telephone was different from actual price at hotel by check-in. I asked hotel staff to stop the music played in next room THREE TIMES. At 10:00pm the police were required to get the music stopped. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!

Our information is different. We actually called the police because of your extremely loud yelling and banging on the walls in response to music in room next to you. You had contacted the front desk 2 times to our knowledge and we did speak to your neighbor each time directly. Later in the evening your very loud yelling I actually heard 70 feet away in my office. Your response to a noise from the room next to your room was extremely disruptive and loud I went to your room to speak and you were out of control with anger and yelling that is why the police were called. As a result you will be permitted to return to our hotel.

Best goodnite inn location so far...

This location rescued the reputation of this chain for me. The facility is quite quaint, neat, and homey. For a cheap motel, I just liked how peaceful it was. Please add a microwave with the fridge, and I'd stay all the time.

Nice in Calabasas

We have stayed at least one night every year for around 10 years. It has been wonderful! They are now working on upgrades and I am looking forward to seeing the changes next year!

Not the best.

Lots of construction going on all over the building. The room smelled of water damage. Lots of allergies. Turning off the AC helped. If you want a cheep spot for the beach and are not to picky it might be ok. Staff was really nice. Front desk was nice.
