Wedding

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Didn’t get to indulge much as we were there for a wedding. Wish we’d know more about what the hotel offered and didn’t, the front desk staff was useless.

Hi Patty, Thank you for the review, but I'm very sorry for your experience. We have so many features to share at check-in, the challenge is how to communicate everything while still providing a fast, enjoyable check-in. We've just launched a new service training initiative, so I hope you return for a completely different experience. Thank you, Ric

Quiet newly renovated and close to town

Posted Oct 27, 2017
This is our 4th motel stay in Calistoga and definitely our favorite so far! Very cute, retro vibe. Husband LOVED the shower (rain from the ceiling). Since we were there for hubby's surgery in St. Helena (9 miles away), I stayed alone the second night and felt very safe there. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Will bring my swimsuit next time as the pools and pool area are great for hanging out with a glass of wine. Town is very close and fun to explore. Food was great at Hydro Grill. Even though the town was evacuated during the fires, Calistoga was not touched by fire. Even so, everywhere we went, we were thanked for staying/eating there. Everyone seemed grateful for our presence. Will be back in December for after surgery recheck. Already have my reservation! Charming place!

Hi Anonymous, I hope your husband's surgery went well and he's feeling better. We're very close to the wonderful St. Helena Hospital. I'm glad you found our hotel and the town to be friendly and welcoming. We're very thankful for people to return to Napa Valley to help put the fires behind us. Please introduce yourself when you check-in later this month! Thank you, Ric

Nice updated hotel, a little walk from the town center. Loved the pool area. Still working on updating the outdoor areas/landscaping so a little noisy at times.

Centrally located...we'll be back

Posted Sep 5, 2017
Pleasantly surprised they called me while on my drive to Calistoga to ask if I had any special instructions or there was anything I need before checking in..I asked for extra pillows. It was a nice touch. They give you tea bags and coffee grounds at the front desk..there is a water heater in the room for the tea, and paper filters for the pour over drip coffee maker. The room is clean, spacious, modern, and still new-ish. There's a small safe in the room. Free wifi. There's a jump rope in the room, but couldn't find the hula hoop they talked about, haha. The cork board has useful info of the resort (like smores making, pool parties, family fun times) and activities in the area. The water and ice tea in the refrigerator, and the snacks on the counter are all complementary. Bike rentals for first 2 hours is free, with nominal fee if you want them longer. There's a spa on site for the massages and mud treatment (not a mud bath). They provide you with robes in the room and pool towels at the front desk..for their 3 mineral pools (warm, warmer, and hot tub). There are more water dispensers by the pool and covered seating areas to keep your stuff out of the sun. Glass isn't allowed in pool area, so get plastic cups for your beer and wine..they can loan you a bottle opener at the front desk. It's conveniently located..a short drive to downtown Calistoga, some wineries, good restaurants, other spa and mud bath treatments, and near the Old Faithful Geyser of California.

OMG That was perfect..

This is one of earth's perfect spots that just happens to also include a perfect "motor lodge" (it's super cute retro-fun). The rooms are absolutely adorable and the pool & surrounds are simply amazing. Who ever put this together is my new favorite person.

Amazing stay!

We showed up at the hotel and at the time of check in we realized I had made the reservation for 2 days prior of our arrival. The lady at front desk was super helpful and even upgraded us to a suite! She didn't charge us any penalty or fee and was very kind! The hotel was fantastic, right by the silverado trail a short walking distance to all the restaurants and shops! We cannot wait to come back!

good value-small quibbles

Posted Aug 18, 2017 on Hotels
The hotel has recently been redone. The rooms are modern and clean. It would have been nice to have more counterspace in the bathroom (there is next to none) and also to have a comfortable chair in the bedroom (there is only one small modern kitchen-type chair at the desk.) Lots of space in the bedroom and lots of counter space and cubbies. Also a large closet (you'd have to ask for more hangers.) The staff was lovely. This is not a "walk to town" location for most people and at present there is no food on site, but they give you good coffee to make in your room and I understand a restaurant is planned for next year. Given the moderate (for Calistoga) price it is a good value.

Thank you very much. We have heard about counter space and looking into alternative ideas. You gave us many thing to think about. Hopefully you can come back next year after the restaurant opens and let us know what you think. Thank you again and we hope to see you soon. Front Desk Host
