Comfy stay

Good base to see Normandy sights. Breakfast was good, eat in restaurant for 2 nights and food pretty good actually. Only negative point about stay is the wifi was poor.

A Campanile Hotel ideal for overnight stop.

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: The quiet location - very central for the route to the Ferry or to explore the historical town of Caen
Location: Caen has so much of historical interest and a good overnight base to explore a wonderful part of Normandy
Very comfortable room on the ground floor - excellent meal during the Evening in the Restaurant. Staff exceptionally helpful - above all the hotel was positioned in a very quiet location hence a good nights sleep assured!

Nice hotel, a little ways to the outskirts of Caen

Posted Jun 7, 2015
Pros: Clean, safe location, great service, and quiet for a good night sleep.
Cons: Add eggs to the breakfast buffet.
Location: Explored the Normandy Beaches, had a rental car to make things easier.
This hotel is a little ways to the outskirts of Caen. A 12 Euro cab ride from the main train station, but easy access if renting a car, free parking. The staff were pleasant, service great, breakfast was convenient. The fresh baked bagettes were excellent in the morning!

Home base for Normandy driving vacation

Posted Jun 18, 2014
This is the second Campanile, I stay at. As expected it is a bit remote, but clean, efficient, and reasonably priced. For someone who is only using the hotel as a base camp for a driving trip around the region it is ideal. This trip ranged from Calais to Mont St. Michael, and South to Le Mans.

how can this hotel get 3 stars?

Posted Jun 26, 2013
Pros: Nothing
A room size of a telephone booth sold for 3 people (with extra for the 3rd person). 4 walls one bed and nothing more. Minimal closet space. Away from everywhere. And above average price.

Stop off hotel

Posted Apr 8, 2013
Pros: Good value
It's a budget hotel and did exactly what we expected, ie provide a bed for the night before we made an early start for Spain. If you expect a lot of frills, then this isn't for you but if you want the basics, it's a good cheap solution.

Campanile cannot be bothered!

Posted Jul 26, 2012
We arrived at the hotel around 8 pm after a very long journey to find that the hotel restaurant was closed and being redeveloped. I had only booked this a week before and was very disappointed that no one had been bothered to inform us of this BEFORE we booked. We had breakfast the following morning in an annexe room, which was also being used as Reception. It was not big enough for the amount of people there and young children were running about the room and not being supervised by their parents. The receptionist/manager(?) just ignored them. This is a very poor reflection on the whole Campanile chain, which we have used before on several occasions and found to be generally satisfactory.

Tout Simple!

Posted Jun 22, 2012
Easy to find, quiet, clean, good value. Only cloud was the 'bi-lingual' clerk wearing a Union flag suggesting Enlish-speaker who could not speak a word of English. Unlike an earlier visit to another in the Campanile chain, this hotel was in great condition, everything worked.
