We got lost on the way there; tried to call the hotel every 20 minutes or so, from 9:30 pm onward, to get better directions and to alert them to our situation...got no answer, over and over, which seemed odd. We found the place, finally, arrived there at 11:25pm, but upon our arrival, we found the entry barred by a security gate, which was locked, the lights were off, nobody answered the intercom....we were stuck on the street in the middle of the night in a foreign city. ..luckily there was a competitor not far down the road who accommodated us readily and to our satisfaction, so things turned out OK.
Sought a refund for our room next morning, was told, essentially: tough break - so sorry - no refund. They said since the website told us they "accept guests up to 11pm" , that was fair warning. They couldn't explain why nobody answered the phone. So, in fairness to them (not sure I should be fair, but will remain a gentleman): I am rating the place a 3, straight across - strictly neutral - since there's no way to otherwise the rate the various topics, and they are required fields.
I cannot provide any info on the place, otherwise, since I didn't really "stay there".
Advice? get a car w/ GPS, and get there before dark...
