"Excellent Location in the center"
Stayed here to be close to fitzwilliam Museum and collegues which are moments away. Check in staff were very polite and helpful, we arrived about 1pm and check in is at three, which personally I find a little late, anyway they kept our bags and we went off to museum. We ate in the Bistro in the evening, the atmosphere was great, the staff really friendly, the food was good but not excellent, breakfast was very good great selection and mostly served at table. The hotel is wonderfully quirky, so different from those ugly chain characterless ones. Our Room which was a studio was fabulous with an amazing bathroom and equipped with all luxury accessories. Very comfy beds wouls always stay again.

"Classic hotel 3 mi. S of Cambridge, in Trumpington"
We chose this B&B for its proximity to Cambridge, visual appeal, and relatively small size. The main building is a beautiful estate home that has only recently been converted to B&B. The owners still live onsite. The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is a grand piano in the living room, and a concert pianist was practicing for an upcoming recital in Sweden.....amazing music was heard and enjoyed by everyone. Our room was new, nicely appointed, comfortable, perhaps a little small, located outside the main building in what might have once been a stable or workshop. The breakfast was continental, and all we really needed. But a hot breakfast option would have been nice. Upon returning from our day in Cambridge (we walked to the city center...probably a bit too far for our old legs, but we made it without too much trouble. Buses are available), we were treated to the sounds of bells from the neighboring parish church...they were practicing the carillon for about 1/2 hour. I found some new energy and walked around the church cemetery to explore further. Nice.

Pocket Guide: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire Romantic Hotels

Floating in the misty fens, this beautiful university city attracts hordes of visitors to its gothic spires, shady cloisters and wide open parks. In the summer, sun seekers punt along the Cam or picnic under the willows that line its banks. Strawberry Fair free music festival takes place early in June and the city's famous folk festival is in July. The view from Castle Hill is worth the climb.
