Magnificent historic building in a beautiful setting. Check in was poor - whilst they had our booking they not could find a room for us. When we were eventually found a room, on a cold evening the central heating was not working. The room was not clean and it had a damp musty smell. I would not return to this establishment.

What a wonderful place to stay. We were amazed at the beautiful ground. Our room was small but functional. We would highly recommend your stay here!

It looks like a country house hotel and labels itself a luxury B&B but in fact it’s a continuing education conference facility. The room we had was adequately furnished but the bathroom was in no way luxurious. The shower varied in temperature wildly in response to other users of water. It leaked and had been for some time judging by the paint and plaster flaking off the wall. There was black mould on the ceiling and the only toiletries provided was a squeeze bottle of lux soap which ran out on our second day and was not refilled. More student accommodation than luxury B&B. Breakfast was a good spread but hot food was put out at the start and left to harden in hot plates. Get there early if you want an edible hot breakfast.
