Disappointing - on more than one aspect

Stayed at this hotel before. The good - staff are nice, breakfast is good. The bad - unfortunately when we entered the room, you would think that it hadn't been prepared properly; the curtain/nets were hanging down, there was a half eaten carrot in one of the drawers !(which was removed by House Service, but not cleaned!!) and the kettle was full of scale.... Shared our experience with reception when we checked out, who assured me that the manager would follow up and make contact - but 7 days later after our stay, no contact. Very disappointing - expected better from the Marriott.
