Decent hotel easy to get to.

Hotel room's were to a decent standard, obviously the lobby and bar/restaurant had been renovated more recently to a high standard. Hotel staff were super helpful with anything you ask them. The Hotel itself is about 15mins drive to the City centre.

Disappointing - on more than one aspect

Stayed at this hotel before. The good - staff are nice, breakfast is good. The bad - unfortunately when we entered the room, you would think that it hadn't been prepared properly; the curtain/nets were hanging down, there was a half eaten carrot in one of the drawers !(which was removed by House Service, but not cleaned!!) and the kettle was full of scale.... Shared our experience with reception when we checked out, who assured me that the manager would follow up and make contact - but 7 days later after our stay, no contact. Very disappointing - expected better from the Marriott.

Food not up to standard

All fine except decided to eat supper in bar. Food atrocious! Supposed to be Shaved lamb with flatbread. A small whole meal PITTA bread topped with very fatty cheap lamb. Skin/tissue top and bottom with a half centimetre of meat sliced into strips. Not fit to serve to hotel customers. The message from the kitchen was "That's what we serve". Inedible!!! Eventually asked for duty manager who dutifully said he would deal with it when he saw chef next morning. We weren't charged for any of our meal but, really, the point wasn't the money, it was the spoil inn of our stay at Marriott and sense of disappointment that such food would be served a In the first place. Breakfast was ok but again disappointing because there was a very fine omelette station which was NOT being pointed out and offered to guests and therefore wasn't being used much. What a shame, once. I'd noticed it I already had my cooked breakfast so missed the opportunity to use the omelette station.

Nice hotel, bad restaurant

Nice hotel, although in the middle of nowhere which is fine except that the restaurant was rubbish. Poor food, very over priced. House wine also not very nice and very slow service. Nice pool, spa and rooms. Good place to stay, as long as you don't want to eat.
