Good but on one night noisy.Posted Aug 8, 2015 on Hotels
Very good stay except for wedding reception on one night. Guests leaving reception area to smoke etc at the entrance were loud quite late at night. Breakfast was excellent and food at the restaurant was first class. Service was outstanding

The stay of three nights was a short break for my wife and I. We visited a number of local attractions and the village setting was both quiet and lovely. The room, which was set outside the main building led onto the Nene River with a grassed area and benches for one to enjoy the setting whilst downing a beer or so. The pub has a restaurant which was a little pricey but the food nice. The room was very spacious and comfortable and the staff keen to assist with our needs, for example we arrived on a Sunday evening when food is not normally served, and make us welcome. The village setting is lovely and on a nice day there is a shortish walk across the fields to the Nene Valley Railway to Peterborough.

Die Überprüfung des Bades wäre notwendig. Die DuscPosted Jul 30, 2015
Pros: Bedienung im Restaurant
Cons: Duschen!

Good hotel convenient for NVRPosted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: Pleasant staff, decent sized room, good food.
Cons: A hook in bathroom for clothing, plus a shaver socket. Only one hand towel provided between two people but, for one night, 2 bath towels sufficed.
Location: Subject to having a car, good location for Peterborough and Nene Valley Railway. We also visited Burghley House during our 2 day, one night break.
Generally this is a good hotel, nicely located in the pleasant village of Lassington (it would help if Expedia gave a more precise location, rather than just Peterborough and the post code.) The original inn is with character, however, the rooms are modern "motel style" in blocks at the rear. Fine in summer, not so good in winter. There is a large grassed area at the rear that leads down to the river, which is very pleasant. There is a bit of an issue regarding staffing of reception as it would seem whoever is on reception duty, also has to cover something else, such as breakfast service. Check-in was delayed because another customer was being dealt with elsewhere. Similarly, it was difficult to place the breakfast order because someone was checking out. The food was excellent both for dinner, as well as breakfast. There were small niggles but, overall, a good place to stay.

Perfect village retreatPosted Jun 10, 2015 on Hotels
Lovely hotel in picturesque setting.Only one towel for the 2 of us (but I'm sure if we'd asked we would have been given a second). Can't comment on the food as the menu looked excellent but they stop serving after 9.00 and we arrived late.

DelightfulPosted May 5, 2015 on Hotels
We were delighted with the meal at this hotel, which is more a restaurant with rooms than a pub. Lovely setting by the river and first class cuisine.

Nice, friendly atmosphere, excellent food. The bathroom could do with an extra heater and updating. However, overall good night sleep.
