Good hotel convenient for NVR

Generally this is a good hotel, nicely located in the pleasant village of Lassington (it would help if Expedia gave a more precise location, rather than just Peterborough and the post code.) The original inn is with character, however, the rooms are modern "motel style" in blocks at the rear. Fine in summer, not so good in winter.
There is a large grassed area at the rear that leads down to the river, which is very pleasant.
There is a bit of an issue regarding staffing of reception as it would seem whoever is on reception duty, also has to cover something else, such as breakfast service. Check-in was delayed because another customer was being dealt with elsewhere. Similarly, it was difficult to place the breakfast order because someone was checking out.
The food was excellent both for dinner, as well as breakfast.
There were small niggles but, overall, a good place to stay.
