Problems with plumbing. Door off hinges. Cold

Posted Oct 26, 2016
Pros: Restaurant food is outstanding. Staff was pleasant. Nothing more to add though the app continues to push for more or the rest of my effort will need wasted. Still not enough for the app so adding more as it commands
Cons: Heat. Shower plumbing. No door hanging off one hinge
Location: Beautiful village. BeautI fully little lake on premises

Great place to stay with excellent pub

Posted May 23, 2016
Pros: Great pub with good food, friendly staff, good overnight stay accommodation, nice and quiet
Cons: Room 2 was a bit smelly
Location: Great English local country pub with excellent food
Stayed at the Queens Head Inn a number for times for business. It's a great little place to stay, nice and quiet and a typical English local pub with excellent food. Love this place.

Limited luxury

Posted Apr 27, 2016
Small double bed with aged cheap spring mattress. Bed sheets torn and paint on mattress cover. Only one towel in room despite booked for 2 guests. old bathroom suite with no stand up shower (shower hose over bath), loose broken toilet seat, a few sheets of toilet paper on the roll with no spare, worn sink taps (difficult to control), literally an inch of dust and cobwebs in room. Room itself is large and appeared recently decorated and the setting and surroundings great. Breakfast adequate reasonable for price. Just low on comfort factor and no quality control. Seemed some other rooms have been refurbished bathrooms etc.

A nice village pub with excellent food

Posted Feb 21, 2016
Pros: Location; village feel; food.
Cons: Staff helpful/polite; some confusion over monies paid on checking out and my first order at bar for a pint with glass of wine was £24+! Soon corrected
Location: A business trip..
A very pleasant village pub which has been upgraded to a modern (almost) open plan interior but remains cosy. Attentive service and wonderful food. Rooms are separate from the main building being large and comfortable albeit maybe the shower/toilet a little tired but clean.

Would definitely recommend and would stay again. Lovely quaint, cosy hotel with open fire in the bar. In a lovely wee village 10 mins from Peterborough

Well equipped rooms, quiet peaceful setting

Posted Dec 20, 2015
Pros: Peaceful environment...
Cons: Update the ensuites a little...
Location: Handy for many areas
Booked through Expedia, hotel is lovely, unfortunately they charged £20 extra for breakfast, which makes the Expedia price look good at first glance. Expedia need to make this known when people are booking B&B! The hotel though is excellent, great place to stay, would recommend it.

Good hotel convenient for NVR

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: Pleasant staff, decent sized room, good food.
Cons: A hook in bathroom for clothing, plus a shaver socket. Only one hand towel provided between two people but, for one night, 2 bath towels sufficed.
Location: Subject to having a car, good location for Peterborough and Nene Valley Railway. We also visited Burghley House during our 2 day, one night break.
Generally this is a good hotel, nicely located in the pleasant village of Lassington (it would help if Expedia gave a more precise location, rather than just Peterborough and the post code.) The original inn is with character, however, the rooms are modern "motel style" in blocks at the rear. Fine in summer, not so good in winter. There is a large grassed area at the rear that leads down to the river, which is very pleasant. There is a bit of an issue regarding staffing of reception as it would seem whoever is on reception duty, also has to cover something else, such as breakfast service. Check-in was delayed because another customer was being dealt with elsewhere. Similarly, it was difficult to place the breakfast order because someone was checking out. The food was excellent both for dinner, as well as breakfast. There were small niggles but, overall, a good place to stay.

Nice, friendly atmosphere, excellent food. The bathroom could do with an extra heater and updating. However, overall good night sleep.

Comfortable accomodation in a small village.

Posted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: Enjoyed the setting in a small village and the old tavern which has been maintained in its original style. Meals are available in the tavern.
Cons: The lighting could be improved in the bathroom and bedroom. It's a bit dim.
Location: The closest town is Peterborough which is not particularly appealing so The Queens Head in Nassington is a nice alternative!
The spacious rooms are situated separate to the tavern in the rear parking area which backs on to a pretty stream. The bedrooms are spacious with plenty of space for luggage and chairs. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was fine.
