This is one of the most wonderful hotels we have stayed at in a long time. The level of service was outstanding, the accommodations extremely comfortable and the property itself had a fairytale quality to it

The staff were a exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a lovely historical building. Rooms are bright and very spacious. We really enjoyed our stay.

Liked the old European character and location. Great bed. Upholstery on room furniture very worn and stained. Carpet stained. Wallpaper in bathroom peeling. Curtains and window sills dusty. Hallway carpet in front of the elevator filthy. Television did not work for my entire stay. Overall not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel.

Old world 5-star is perfect in bustling Amsterdam

The Amstel (Intercontinental Amsterdam) is a fine, 5-star accommodation in every respect. After a 5-star Rhine river cruise, the stay at the Amstel was a further step up. Top marks in every category, but especially for the impeccable service and attentive staff.
