Comfortable & convenientPosted Sep 3, 2015
Delightful hotel with friendly and efficient staff. A glass of wine in a comfortable lounge chair by the open fire at the end of a day was good.

Location to everythingPosted Jul 15, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: It's excellant location as pointed out above.
Cons: Not a lot
Location: It was close to Civic & exciting surrounding streets (Lonsdale Street especially). We walked to the War Memorial & saw the new World War 1 exhibit.
We stayed in this Hotel when we were moving from Melbourne in 1979. We loved it then & it didn't disappoint this time. We could walk to most things that we wanted to do & see & as an added bonus our friend loaned us their car for use further afield. The room we had was quite large & spacious with the most comfortable bed.

Great and helpful staff. Good location. Restaurant and bistro really good. Only downside would be beds too soft. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Great Hotel to stay in a winter retreat. Open fire sets the scene, with great staff and great location. Plenty of off street parking too.

Family hotel in CanberraPosted Jul 11, 2015 on Wotif
We stayed here with our two kids. The room with a mezzanine floor ( king bed and bathroom) and kids on bottom level worked well. Great buffet breakfast was included which we all enjoyed Nice and quiet with free parking and still central - right near war memorial The hotel is rather rambling and the layout means you have to walk a labrynth to reach reception but we would still stay here again

Grand Hotel close to the Australian War MemorialPosted Jul 8, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: Staff were friendly and efficient.
Cons: Bistro meal could have been hotter.
Location: Central but away from the city centre. Close to the Australian War Memorial and only a few minutes drive from the lake and parliament precinct.
Hotel was warm and comfortable and central to all of our events in Canberra. Staff were very efficient. Off street parking was sufficent and close to our room.
