Family get away

Pros: Pool Location Variety of room configurations ( I needed 3 different rooms)
Cons: Breakfast service was terrible! Arrived at 10:00 ( service ended 10:30) for buffet, had to ask for almost everything to be re-stocked, including bread
Mini bar not re-stocked Breakfast awful ( see below) - not attended to at all. Staff took room number, seated us & that was all. No return service, offer of other products ( such as espresso coffee or egg options) Check in/out easy & friendly, although would like to have had info about hotel offered, such as happy hour & restaurant run down, however they were happy to answer what was asked. No perks offered for being Accor member. Staff helpful & friendly except breakfast. Parking easy to access & get car in & out Location very handy to Floriade & variety of restaurants on foot.

Disappointing - wouldn't stay here again

we stayed one night and picked the Novotel because we wanted to stay near the city centre. Location was good but room and service were below standard. The room configuration was awkward and uncomfortable - our bathroom sink was out near the bed not where the toilet and shower were. The foyers were never cleaned during our stay - trays and leftover food still on the floor 24 hours later. The breakfast buffet was good but they seemed understaffed and tables were left dirty, we had to wait a while to be seated, the coffee machine stopped working because staff hadn't emptied the tray in a while, overall a chaotic and unenjoyable experience.

High-end hotel next to transport hub.

Pros: Close to public transport. Has an incredibly convenient on-site car rental service.
Cons: Keycards did not work for all-hours access or the elevator, or even the room sometimes. Slight bugs that need ironing out.
Location: Close to public transport, regional transport hub, shopping centres, civic, most landmarks are a bus trip away.
Booked hotel close to transport options for business trip. Excellent check-in process, no fuss. Customer service was always available, 24/7, even with high peak numbers of guest check ins.

Great hotel close to all facilities

Pros: As above
Cons: Parking fee of $20 on top of accommodation charge a bit high.
Location: Good shopping,bus runs handy.Visited Floriade,museum,war memorial,Canberra stadium to watch grandson's grand final.
Centrally located,easily accessable to Canberra attractions.

In general it is a pretty good hotel - rates are reasonable, close to CBD and shops. Parking is not free though.

Great staff!

As usual the staff, (Bonnie) was excellent. There was also a trainee who was ok too. The staff make it here. The hotel itself is v good and the facilities and location are fine.

Dissapointed

Room was dirty. Bed was not comfortable Pillows were flat and lumpy, when ordering from the "pillow menu" didn't have the options we were looking for. Waiting for ice minimum 40 minute wait, had to make 2 phone calls to follow up, second night waited 1 hour and gave up after calling twice. Aldi products sold for health and beauty ncecessities not what you would expect from a big chain. Parking was awful cramped can barley fit cars into spaces without a struggle to get out. The level we where on smelt funny, of B/O in the corridor. wouldnt be recommending this hotel to many people.

Good location to access Canberra sights.

Pros: Good location to drive to main sights.
Cons: Signage to the car parking. We nearly missed it and drove through the bus rank by mistake to find it as it was not clearly marked.
Location: Close to the main roads to the War Memorial, EPIC centre and Deakin.
The hotel is on a fairly main road which is a good road to branch off from to see the various well known sights in Canberra. Parking out the front is not accessible even though there are spots. They seem to be taken up with cabs and the cars that can't read the 'no parking' signs, but there is an underground valet parking carpark, albeit hard to find initially. The room was nice, 2 queen beds that accommodated our family of 2 adults and 2 children (10 and 16 who were OK to share the bed). The hotel offered to bring up a trundle if the queen bed was going to cause problems with sharing and whilst the room would have been cosy, it would have fit easily. They don't offer a queen and two singles. The buffet breakfast that was included in the room price was an awesome one. The staff were helpful and friendly. The newspapers were abundant and there was a great coffee machine that, with one push of a button, served mochas, cappuccinos and hot chocolate as well as normal coffee. The food selection was enormous with fruits, cereal and juice, toast, pancakes and muffins as well as a hot selection which included bacon, eggs, snags, mushroom, tomato, baked beans, Asian noodles and congee. The atmosphere is friendly and family friendly.

Great central location, close to shopping and ANU

Cons: The pillows weren't all that comfortable and could be improved. Other than that, it was pretty good.

We stayed at the Novotel Canberra when visiting Canberra for the ANU Open Day. It was a great central location close to ANU, shops and restaurants. Our double bed room was clean and functional.
