AmazingPosted Aug 26, 2015
Cons: The door to the toilet is glass and open at the bottom and the top so everything could be heard in the room.
Location: Never left the resort. Booked transportation through Expedia, which was provided by BD travel. They were good for the price $26 a person round trip.
Hotel, Staff location all amazing. It was our first time in Mexico. We loved it. Have traveled all over the Caribbean, the West coast and Hawaii and Alaska. This was one of, if not the best vacation we have taken. Food was great. facilities were amazing, staff genuinely friendly. Special shout-out to Floricel, Oscar, Job, Marcos, David Wilberth, Antonio, Dante, Andrea and Ricardo and the 2 young hostesses at Tuscana. They all provided amazing warm friendly service. Can't wait to go back again. All the restaurants we ate at had great food. We did the Mexican twice, Indian twice, Spanish twice and Asian once. We had the cheapest room and loved it. Room 1301, great location. All the rooms are the same except the 2 story suites. So you can't get a bad room. This is an up scale resort catering to couples. So there are no packs of 20 something years olds doing shots. However you can get a shot though. Drinks were made with 1800, Bacardi, Smirnoff, Absolute, etc. but make sure you specify what you want in the drink until they get to know you. make sure you try 1921 it is the Mexican Baileys but tastes better. I did see a staff member carrying a bottle of Grey Goose, not sure if that was for the excellence club or if you need to ask for it. Make sure you pack a pair of pants and some dress shirts as they are required at dinner in the restaurants. They had live entertainment at various locations through out the resort starting at noon and going until 11:30.

EXCELLENT HoneymoonPosted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: #1, the people and the service they provided.
Cons: Clear communication on when rooms are cleaned and mini-fridge are stocked.
Location: Location great. We did a catamaran excursion and dolphin swim (LIFETIME EXPERIENCE) - booked through Best Day.
We spent a lot of time deciding what resort to choose for our honeymoon and since my husband had previously experienced the Excellence in Riveria Maya. Only we were surprised that we felt it was better! We stayed at Excellence Playa Mujeres for 12 days. Everything that made this resort amazing came down to the people. The people at this resort were SO friendly and kind. We really appreciated all the interactions we had with everyone. Our room was very nice, super clean, and plenty of room. During the day, poolside, we were always greeted by a wonderful waiter named Virigilio. He was always so attentive and cheerful. One of our favorite parts of the resort were the activities. They had yoga 6 days a week taught by Ramseys and had other activities like Cross Training, Stretching, ABS, taught by other wonderful instructors Victor and Carlos. Lucky for us, not many people were as active so we sometimes got personal 1:1 yoga, pilates, and cross training sessions. My husband also enjoyed the casino nights and daily Texas hold'em. The restaurants were amazing. They had a total of 9 restaurants and they were all very good. We went to a couple twice, our favorite was Spice, Flavor Market, and Agave because of our wonderful waiter Hugo. We never got her name but the omelet lady to the right when you walk into the buffet breakfast was THE BEST. Overall, you cannot go wrong going to this resort. People, food, and atmosphere were amazing. We hope to return sometime in the future.

Best stay of my lifePosted Aug 25, 2015
Pros: Friendly and kind and caring staff. The amazing food. The short distance between all the locations in the resort. The all inclusive in room minibar.
Cons: Wait time for the Habachi at spice can be improved. And the wifi speed could be a bit better.
Location: Didn't really leave the resort.
From the moment we stepped into to hotel the friendly staff were pampering us until we left. The food was impeccable. The hotel condition was amazing. Amigo Carlos at Sol Bar went out of his way to bring us the best drinks to be had beside a pool under the sun. The room service was amazing. Everything was so good about our stay that I couldn't believe it. Andrés at the beach, Enrique at the reception, and everyone else were so kind and caring. They actually cared about us, never had that experience in any hotel. Definitely coming back, I am actually in the process of convincing friends to go to this place with us next time. Thank you very much for making our stay amazing.

Excellence lives up to its namePosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Big, beautiful location with nice ocean view, fantastic pools (including a lazy river-esque one) and surprisingly large rooms. My bed was comfortable.
Cons: Food portions were a bit small in a few places, but no fret, just order a second entree.
Location: Beautiful, semi-secluded location, joined by two other Excellence resorts on both sides and a small Marina. Exploring? You'll be taking a cab.
I had a fantastic time during my stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres. It is truly a self-contained vacation area with wonderful staff, mostly excellent food, a laid back atmosphere, and great patrons. The rooms were large, clean, and well stocked (including full bottles of liquor, albeit lower end stuff (not that I'm complaining)), as long as you don't mind the glass showers and water closet. The beach is pretty but just shy of being that stunning all blue abyss, though this fairly minor and may change from time to time due to seaweed levels, so while not blown away by the sealine, it was still plenty beautiful. I'm in my early 30s and traveled to the resort to meet and socialize with some friends for a few days, it's a fantastic resort for this, and even though it's very couples centric - I made many new acquaintances and friends, all of whom were just having a great, relaxing time. Not the least bit of attitude to be found. Food was generally quite good, Flavor Market (Tapas-style) was fantastic. While I initially found the room rates to be a bit on the steep side, I found it to be more than justified when I arrived. Just be sure you play the Jurassic Park theme as you roll through those main gates.

Good VacationPosted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: Food, drinks, room selection, professionalism of staff.
Cons: Pool Hours could be longer....pool closes at 8:00PM. Deeper pools would be nice, all pools are 1 meter deep.
Location: Stayed within the resort during my whole stay. But resort concierge is on hand 24hours to assist in any off site site seeing, acitivities, etc/
9 restaurants within the resort, bars located all over the resort, fresh fruit bar, coffee and deserts lounge at 3rd floor of the lobby, swim up pools, private hot tubs, beautiful beach, friendly yet professional staff, light entertainment every night at the theater, on-site Spa. Would definately recommend this all inclusive resort if what you are looking for is relaxing and quiter side of Cancun.
