Perfect locationPosted Nov 24, 2015
Definitely a party hotel for the older crowd If you look past all the hotels imperfections and concentrate on the Staff you will love your stay. The Staff is Awesome! Not 1 complaint. Wish the Hotel would fine tune the finishing touches on the place and make it a 5 Star get away.

Group of 6 went and none of us will be backPosted Nov 22, 2015
6 of us (3 couples) all celebrating 40th and 50th birthdays and a honeymooning couple went for a week getaway. We checked in and all 3 rooms were wrong. We all had to stay in a different room the first night and then they moved us to the right rooms the rest of the vacation because they overbooked the hotel. The front desk staff was rude. The food portions were small so the men started ordering 2 meals for dinner each night. There is only a buffet dinner on Wednesdays so you have to go to one of the restaurants. The Japenese restaurant was terrible. Our steaks at the Old Barn were basically raw when they came to the table and they were only about 1/4" thick. Jose, the bartender, was great and some of the waiters were nice, but they automatically try to sell you a timeshare as soon as you sit down to check in and they're very pushy about it. There was orange foam coming out of our jacuzzi jets and they wash and reuse the desposible plastic cups for drinks. I would not go back to this particular resort but I would go back to Cancun. I would recommend one of the Riu properties.

Located right on the beach.Posted Nov 21, 2015
Cons: When it rained there were a lot of leaks in the hotel. Needs some renovatiobs
Location: Location was good, close to pretty much anything you wanted to do.
Hotel was nice, but is in need of some renovations and upgrades. The location right on the beach was really nice and there was always chairs available. Food needs to be improved, most of it was good, but the portion size is very small and steaks were tough most of the time. Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Some of the bartenders need to be trained. When you ordered a drink and they didn't have all of the ingredients they would make it without whatever was missing and if they didn't know how to make it they would just guess with out saying anything. All in all it was a nice place.

Middle of the road hotelPosted Nov 20, 2015
Pros: staff and food
Cons: maintenance, noise
Location: Good location that is close to downtown Cancun.
The price made the hotel worth it...barely. The staff was friendly and did a good job. The food was not great, but was good enough. The hotel was a little dated and in need of maintenance. The bathroom was poorly lit. One light fixture didn't work properly. The TV would not turn off so I had to unplug it to not be bright all night. Our biggest complaint was the noise. The open-aired lobby and lobby bar made it impossible to escape the noise. If you are a late night partyer then you will be fine. We were woken up quite a few times with people yelling after 1 am. We also weren't happy with the sales pitch for a membership to Parnassus Resorts that wasn't disclosed properly. It was pitched to us as the opportunity to come back with our family. Then it turns into a 90 minute membership pitch.

Stay was wonderful. Hotel staff was amazing.Posted Nov 17, 2015
Everything was great. Only thing I would suggest is pool activities and better music. Heard a lot of complaints about that

Great Food! Great Staff! Dated rooms.Posted Nov 17, 2015
Pros: The staff; The food; The size
Cons: Rooms could use update. Old electrical outlets; some of the stucco on the walls was coming off. Also disappointed WiFi was only available in lobby
Location: The resort is situated in the middle of the main strip, so easy access to nearby amenities.
This was our 3rd visit to the Golden Parnassus in the past 10 years. We love the restaurants and the staff is amazing. We love that the facility is smaller than most resorts and is adults only, all-inclusive. The only negative we have is the rooms are dated and are in need of an update. Otherwise, another very enjoyable trip! Plenty of bars and restaurants, with no waiting for tables. The beach was clean and had plenty of cabanas and seating available. Lots of fun activities around/in the pool during the day and festivities at night.

Exactly what we wanted!Posted Nov 14, 2015
Pros: No kids Smaller resort so everything was close Mo the bartender at The Dolphin knew you and what you liked.
Cons: More food variety All inclusive should include drinks in the restaurants also.
Location: We checked out the flea market and they harassed us to check out their store but we did get some good deals. Next time I want to play golf.
We wanted to go somewhere that we would have the option to relax or party and the Parnassus was perfect. If we didn't want to deal with partying at the pool they had plenty of beach chairs where we could relax and read a book or we could sit in the pool and chat it up while we watched the different events in the pool. Buffet servers were excellent but the servers in the restaurants were tough to communicate with and could not or would not fulfill any special requests. Also had to pay for drinks when you were eating in the restaurants. The food was good but I would have liked to see more of a variety. Overall it was exactly what we wanted and we have already decided to go back next year!

Can't wait to go back!Posted Nov 8, 2015
Pros: Everything. The staff went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable and happy.
Cons: Wi-Fi access could be available anywhere on resort property, not just in the lobby when it is not free.
Location: Within 10-15 minute walking distance of nice shopping. Buses are super easy to take (and cheap) to get pretty much anywhere.
This was our second Cancun trip and we are already figuring out the next one. One thing is for sure, we will return to the Golden Parnassus each time. For our entire 7 day stay there, the ONLY issue I had was regarding the Wi-Fi. We were willing to pay for it to stay in touch with our kids, but only having access in the lobby was a pain. Other than that-everything else was amazing! And in the grand scheme of things, we were on vacation so we SHOULD have been unplugged the majority of the time anyway! :)
