Nice place but they rip you off on wifiPosted Nov 25, 2015
Not only is there no free wifi even in the lobby They charge you $10/day for wifi. Then you find zero wifi in your room or in your hotel. So you have to sit on the ground floor with a dozen teenagers checking email. I was on the 6th floor and the elevator was always busy so had to walk up and down 6 flights! Then I complained to guest services and they said I had to talk to the vendor. Which I did. And they kept disconnecting the phone It's unethical for this hotel to say they can't help get a refund from the wifi vendor, when they are receiving income from this vendor. They're trying to hide behind the shield of an outside vendor. But they know the wifi is defective. They get complaints about this every hour of every day. Plus it's their staff and credit card terminal that charged my physical credit card Expedia should contact them to end this unethical business practice if they have any sort of duty towards their customers. And I have spent $10,000 on Expedia in 2015 alone!;(

Much Better Hotels In CanCunPosted Nov 25, 2015
Pros: LEAVING!! Oh and the female staff the Kids Club were awesome :-)
Cons: All the things I previously listed.
Where do I start! Due to the terrorist attacks in Paris on 13 Nov 2015, we missed our flight out of Denver. Expedia tried to call and move our reservation, and I was told that it was in fact moved. When we arrived, I asked about checking in (1) day later, and the young man at check-in (who barely spoke English) told me that there was "no problem". After a 5-night stay (which was our original reservation), the hotel tried to charge me $430 for an additional night stay for the original no-show. Even though Expedia was charging us only $184.77 per night for the 5 nights. As to the hotel, we booked an Ocean View, 2 Double Bed. When we arrived - not available. They gave us (1) King Bed for 3 people. Toilet was broken the entire stay, called maintenance, they sent a guy up, he said he fixed it - stayed broken (and running) the entire trip. Fitness Center was a joke. 3 out of 3 treadmills down; Nordic Track equipment that was at least 20 years old (I mean didn't that stuff go out in the 80's). Dealing with the hotel staff was "challenging" at best. Beyond the reservation deal, almost none of the staff on this resort spoke English - or at least they pretended not too unless it was to their advantage. No locks on the sliding glass doors in the rooms, safe was broken - so literally your room was unsecured when you were out of it. Construction going on all day in the Playa building we were in, etc, etc. Stay at the GR Solaris or Moon Palace - avoid this place like the plague!

Mildew and Roach infested dump!Posted Nov 24, 2015
It was a waste of money. In the first 36 hours we had to move rooms 4 different times. In the first room the toilet wouldn't flush, none of the cold water knobs worked (including the shower), the AC was just a fan and the room smelled musty. We asked to be moved and they said they'd check with maintenance first. Didn't come, so we went to the front to switch. In the second room 1 of the sink knobs didn't work. The AC however was once again not working very well. We stayed there for the night because they insisted they just turned on the AC. The next morning there was standing water on the bathroom floor. Pipes under sink had been duct taped together. AC didn't cool off any more either as I was sweating all night (Room was in Building 1) They tried to put us in the same building but I demanded a different building based on our experiences so far.The third room we were put in had AC that was a bit cooler so it was manageable. However there were mold spores on the walls. The bathroom had missing tiles so there were holes in the wall of the tub. I gave my daughter a bath, and as she was getting in, a giant Roach climbed out of one of the crevasses and into the tub. With my crying daughter, I went to reception to change again. The last rooms bathtub drain slowly and room was just, but AC worked so we kept it. we wasted 2 days. Didn't get to do all the excursions because I was wasting time moving rooms. I've traveled many places and this was the worst experience I've ever had.

Do NOT book this Hotel unless u want to be SORRYPosted Nov 21, 2015
Pros: The coffee was good.
Cons: Just about everything. The place needs to be torn down and rebuilt.
Location: Location was good, on a beach on a nice street near many other hotels. We took a bus to a mall.
Room by the Ocean was in need of renovation. Old, broken down, water came in from doors, the hot water faucet was broken, broken marble all over on floors, bathroom disaster..............dirty, dirty, dirty......waste of $ and time. Staff tell you anything to keep u quiet but don't deliver. Food 3 out of 10. I hated this holiday and wish I can take back the time and $ I spent on it. Only good coffee! I hope this review helps you decide not to book here.

Beach is gorgeousPosted Nov 19, 2015
Beach was gorgeous, food was good. Waiters were phenomenal as were the concierge staff. That's the only nice things we could say about this hotel. Service was horrible. Our room was left open by the maid service on one occasion. Regular hotel staff not friendly or helpful at all. Getting to and from your rental car and room was a horribly long walk because pays off the hotel were locked to guests but not staff. Lots of up sailing all over the place. Time share people were very pushy. And they were everywhere! Getting clean towels was impossible unless you got them yourself. Room was booked with full mini bar and fridge, no fridge and a couple cans of warm beer was it. No ice machine to even cool it down! I will say that the view from the balcony was awesome and the wind through the room made the stay bearable. AC isn't that good. I would not recommend this hotel to any friend.

Great staff and servicePosted Nov 16, 2015
I enjoyed my stay at the grand oasis but they definitely need to change a few things. The room was great however my room was not cleaned for an entire day, I did not get a lock for my safe which resulted in my things getting stolen from the pool they gave me the wrong room but fixed that error the next day. Great staff and great service.
