Perfect for families

Posted Feb 21, 2017
Cons: Room furniture and quality of resturants
The Parnassus resort is perfect for families. The kids have all they need to enjoy a perfect funny vacation, the Kindergarden is very nice, clean and the staff is really nice with the kids. Contra are the rooms: furniture dated and damaged in some case, but very clean. Only 2 resturants for our viewpoint are good: the mexican and the Japanese. Stay away from the italian one: nothing to do with the italian food. The self service resturant and breakfast are good.

Great Hotel !!!

Posted Feb 19, 2017
Pros: The staff is great, beach and pool.
Cons: They need to keep the adult pool open at night. Their is know where to go outside after 6 pm.
Location: The location is perfect. Its close to everything.
My boyfriend and I go to this hotel several times a year. We absolutely love the staff. Everyone is friendly and always willing to help you out. Even though their is some area's of the hotel that need some work their always cleaning and trying to make it better. The kids area is amazing for all ages, The restaurants are also good but it matters what you like. If you don't like it go eat some where else. There is plenty to choose from.

Nice hotel but can improve

Posted Feb 18, 2017
Hotel is right on the beach with an infinity pool overlooking the water and is really nice. They also have pool/hot tub in the front to watch the sunset. They are very family friendly with lots of events/kid friendly pools/games. Where they seriously need to improve is their food - everything tastes the same. The buffet food tastes the same as the restaurants (even the high end ones). The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Biggest tip is to bring your own cup (or buy one there) - they have extremely small cups for drinks and you'll be running back and forth to get refills.

Americans are not welcome here

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Pros: I did not get poisoned or did not bring any bacteria back home, food is simple but there seems to be some quality control there.
Cons: Get rid of rude pompous security guards, fix the elevators, stop discrimination against white people
Location: serious construction going on right across.
70% of all the guests are not english speaking, 25% are from canada and 5% are idiots like me from U.S. The hotel is not geared for international crowd, mostly locals from local states are staying there and they get better rooms. There is a new construction outside the southern side of the hotel, they are building something big in there 24 hours a day AND night, so if you want to get some sleep you won't there is a cement trucks in and out even at 2 a.m. If you are white you will be harassed to show the bracelet every time you enter or leaving the beach, one time a big security guard with his dirty hands was even twisting my arm out to see if it says great Parnassus on my wrist band. The hotel itself is ok, but experience itself was bad, the vacation just was ruined by noise of heavy machinery, cement trucks, cement /sand flying into the room, and I even had an ocean front suit. Some elevators don't work, and you have to wait about 5-10 min for the elevator and when they arrive there are 13+ people in there that are jammed like sardines and you try to fit in there and there is no air to breath and you just start to sweat. Also the check out is at 12, and your keys stop to work around 9-10a.m. so if you plan to get back into your room around 11 on the checkout date to get your stuff, you will have to wait 15+ min for the elevator to get down then 15+ to get back up, basically I would not recommend this place to any american, there is no relaxation there.

Hotel has good food, nice pools and great beach.

Posted Feb 13, 2017
Pros: The staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had what we needed.
Cons: Refrigerators are not available in all rooms.
Location: Located in hotel zone. Shopping and restaurants nearby. Bus stop in front of resort.
Hotel has a variety of restaurants and food to choose from. Pool areas for kids and adults and a separate pool area for adults only. A wonderful water park for kids. The beach is nice and clean with plenty of chairs with shade available.

Would not stay here again!

Posted Feb 12, 2017
The bed was hard as a rock. The elevator broke down. The food was horrible. Wifi is not included. Very outdated. Bottled water not included. Long walk up hill to get back to hotel lobby from street. Beach was not as well kept as other properties. It was humid in the hotel! We have been to Cancun before and love it but would not stay here again!!

The overall condition of the hotel buildings and facilities was disappointing. We did not have AC for three nights and after the final complaint, the controls wall unit was finally replaced. I do feel that the staff did their best with what they had.
