Our overall stay was great. My only complaint would be that The first night we had no air but that was fixed. The staff was all around excellent. Eduardo was usually taking care of us and was excellent...but went above and beyond to check on us even when it wasn't his job. We will definitely use this place again!

Hotel was a little below average. They are doing construction outside every morning there is loud drilling and banging. The food was ok but needs improvement. Rooms were clean. We booked a room with two double beds and they gave us one bed. Also make sure you have pesos because they do not like giving back American change. The bus is $1 DO NOT take cabs as they try to over charge every time. A typical cab ride down to the city is like $8 but it's not worth it when there's always traffic. The bus was so much better.

Horrible place

This hotel made my 6 day experience the worst . The bathroom smelled like the sewer . The supervisor Alberto was a complete idiot. They are money hungry . Eddy was the. Eat waiter of all time we enjoyed him being our waiter but Alberto really needs to get fired . He's not helpful at all and if u have cash don't bother they only accept credit cards for everything here

Hotel with an intimate feel.

Pros: The feel of not being at a huge resort. The staff...Andres at the front desk, Jimmy the bell boy, and Eddy the waiter to name a few. Renovated rooms
Cons: The rooms that have not yet been renovated. Very spacious and clean but definitely feel and smell old.
Location: Without knowing the location was awesome. Walking distance to shopping and water sports. Short bus ride to most anything else.
NYX is a much smaller hotel than most of the resorts in the area. At first I wondered if that would be a mistake but it didn't take long to realize how perfect it was for just me and my wife who were there alone to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. It only took minutes to get anywhere in the hotel vs waiting on an elevator to ride down several floors waiting on dozens of people to get on and off. There was never a crowd...ever. No waiting in line for anything. The staff seemed to know everyone in the hotel. Very few kids so no worries about cannon ballers in the pool. The pool and beach area was the same size as the giant resort next door but with about a quarter of the people. So there was more than enough room to really enjoy the beach or the pool. Drinks were plentiful and the food was good. Breakfast was a buffet, lunch and dinner were ala carte. Definitely worth the all inclusive price which was about half of other hotel prices. If my wife and I went back alone or with another couple I wouldn't go anywhere else. If I took kids I would look for something a little more kid friendly.

I wasn't able to charge things from the bar to my room, nor did they inform me how. Whenever I arrived someone was having issues with their key card. The night before I left I had an issue and asked the cleaning staff to let me in and she said no. I had to go back down stairs with kids to have them reactivate the key card. The wait staff on the patio for lunch and dinner picked and choose who could sit where. No this table sits 2, no this table sits 3. I paid for my hotel I should be able to sit wherever I wanted to.

The rooms were clean but need a little up keep.

Cons: Restaurants
Location: Close to malls and lots to do on beach.
Nice time but wish we had different restaurants to choose from. Wish there was more activities to do.

Awful customer service made the whole trip crappy. They were rude and even yelled at one point...the hotel was nice for the most part the rooms are outdated and not amazing but it is mexico. Can't buy any drinks unless you have the all inclusive package. The employees hover constantly on the beach and at meals. Beautiful beach spot just not whayWould recommend staying elsewhere.

Very nice smaller hotel with a great beach

Pros: Size (not too huge!), position on the hotel strip, beach, and staff.
NYX is one of the few hotels that offers a breakfast only option, in addition to all inclusive. Since there are a number of good restaurants in Cancun, this was a perfect option for us. We had a very nice, spacious room just off the beach. It was very clean and comfortable. The staff are attentive and friendly, the breakfast has many choices and is very good. This hotel is situated a bit north of the mid point on the hotel strip, about 1/2 mile north of the La Isla shopping mall. You can run a line of credit if you want to buy drinks at the bar and are not "all inclusive". On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, they had a special lobster dinner, which we purchased for a very reasonable price. For the equivalent of about $50 US, we had a huge lobster (it had been alive just that afternoon so it was very fresh) cooked on the grill, with rice and grilled vegetables, a bottle of wine, and access to the salad and dessert bars. It was excellent! I would recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a good Cancun vacation at a reasonable price.
