Good hotel - don't pay for extras on Expedia

Pros: location is excellent.
Cons: Beds. - small double beds.
Location: Excellent location to downtown shopping and food court. right on beach and just south of Playa Norte which is excellent beach.
Good hotel, good price but don't buy into the extras advertised on expedia and other sites. Right next to PUBLIC beach not a private beach. No beach towels. Don't waste time asking for King Bed - we did and still ended up in small separate double beds the entire stay. Definitely go for poolside of hotel. Great distance to walk everywhere. Staff okay but not welcoming and friendly. Exchange money down the street at bank or different hotel for better exchange rate.

A "C" Class hotel. But this is what is on the island. Don't get a room in the low rise. Get a room in the tower (If you want to call it that). Wifi is poor except in lobby. Be prepared to not have water, hot water, A/C , etc. on any given day. Best thing is location. Across the street from the beach and next to Jax's. Walking distance to about everything. Just don't expect much.

Pros: The location
Cons: Access to hot water, wifi
When we checked in we were placed in a room in the main building very different than what we paid for -- threadbare bath towels, double beds, not cleaned, and no hot water. We later found out that this was the lowest level of room they offered while we had paid for a Superior Standard room. Although they had no king beds open, they were able to switch us to a nicer room in the second building the day after we discovered there was no hot water and complained (note, you also cannot call out with the phones in the rooms, so we couldn't call Expedia). The second room we were in was nicer and cleaner. It had hot water. I wish they would have just put us there originally--given that we paid for it-- rather than try and put us in a really gross room. It felt like they were trying to pull one over us. There is also only wifi in the reception and restaurant areas, and it is very spotty. I understand that this is not unique to the hotel; apparently many buildings on Isla have issues with wifi due to building construction. Do not expect wifi in your room. The location was really nice and close to everything. As long as you make sure you get one of the nicer rooms, this is an OK hotel to stay at. The bar staff at the pool were very nice as well.

Pros: the location and the pool were the best
Cons: More hot water, WIFI in the rooms
Location: Close to JAX bar and grill, across the street from free chairs on the beach, and a great place to get beach massages!
Had a great time at Posada Del Mar. Obviously I didn't go on vacation to Isla Mujeres to stay in my hotel room that much, but when I was there it was quite comfortable and inviting. My one dissatisfaction with the room was that there seemed to not have water in the morning and ran out of hot water in the afternoon. Out of the 6 days there, I got 1 luke warm shower. I also wish they had WIFI in the rooms, not just in the little lobby But the pool was awesome, and the bar had great drinks and great bartenders!

Pros: The pool and the pool-side bar.
Cons: Egads, clean up all the rooms.
Location: Great location. Right in centro overlooking Playa Norte.
While I understand that Hotel Posada has some nice rooms, I found myself in a "wing" out back that hadn't seen much maintenance in years. I perhaps would have been okay with that but the price-to-value at $100+ per night simply wasn't there. The only upside is, there's a nice pool with a bar -- and the bar tenders are fun and friendly.

The staff was very unfriendly, especially the man at the front desk. Wifi is terrible. The room smelled of mold.

Disappointed

Pros: Location
Cons: Ice machine, ice buckets, take off beach club from the name.
Location: I love Isla, go there often, snorkeling is fun, beaches are nice.......
The hotel has a great location, in the middle of everything and close to the beach so that is a plus. Rooms were clean. Balcony door could not be locked but usually we are trusting so that was not a big deal. Did not eat there so cannot comment on that. The negatives....no water in the morning for 3 out of 5 days. Beach club is non existent. There is no beach club for the hotel. Someone else runs it and it costs you. No ice after the bar closes and bar closes early. Front desk people not very friendly. When I asked about the lack of water, they said other rooms complained also and would not take my room number. They should have just been honest and advised that there was a water issue in the hotel and or given information the night before each of the days so that we would know to do all water things at night. Heard from other guests later that it was for the entire hotel. No way to keep anything cold as no ice, no ice bucket, no refrigerator....disappointed in that.....would not go back to that hotel....PS, I rarely if ever complain about anything and do not have very high expectations .

Decent Enough

Pros: AC. Got the room cold cold. Close to shopping, food and beach. Cons: Paid extra for the superior king room. Was actually two double beds. Reading the fine print, that was specifically noted. AC would leak water daily. Fridge barely worked. Free Wi-Fi is ONLY in the lobby. Shower broke at least 3 times (lost water pressure due to building issues). Took half a day to restore. Toilet seat was smaller than the toilet. With all that being said, we were still thankful to come back to our room after a long hot day.

Location is great ! Pool ok. Our room - bathroom sink wouldn't drain. After showering, the whole bathroom floor was flooded. Shower curtain was too short and there was only about an inch difference to step into the shower. We were booked for 5 nights and checked out after the first night. Expedia tried to contact them for a refund but they refused.
