Great location

Posted Feb 18, 2017
Pros: Very clean.
Cons: Queen bed was actually a double, but King bed was indeed a king size.
Location: Right in the middle of downtown, but noise was not a problem. It quiets down by 11:00. Short walk to beach, ferry, square.
Enjoyed our 4 day stay. Room 302 was very clean and spacious with great views of downtown and ocean. Breakfast was light and perfect way to start the day. Short walk to the beach and beach towels were included.

Hotel Bucaneros

Posted Feb 17, 2017
Our room was a 2 double bed room. Price was good. Room was clean and has maid service daily. Rooms have safes you can use for a $30 USD deposit. Free breakfast daily is yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee/tea, cereal, toast some baked goods etc. Our travel companions had a very tiny room with 1 double bed. Only bad thing is I would recommend you buy your own water and not trust the "bottled water" on each floor. Some staff was caught refilling the jugs with a Garden hose and several people were sick. This was reported to management and seemed to have resolved prior to our departure, but better safe than sorry. Other wise it has a great location right in the shopping and bar area. My room faced the rear of the hotel and was quiet, didnt notice noise from the street. Short walk to the beach and great for restaurants and shopping. Hotel also sells the cheapest biodegradable spf 50 sunscreen we found anywhere at 160 pesos.😉 We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel so it worked for us. Beds were decently comfortable and the A/C in the rooms and fridge are great. You get what you pay for.

Very comfortable hotel, great location, affordable

Posted Feb 14, 2017
Pros: Just be aware that there is no elevator, so you will have to carry your suitcases up to whichever floor your room is on.
Location: Easy walk to any of the beaches. Pay a deposit to take a hotel beach towel and or chair, and enjoy the Isla Mujeres beaches in comfort.
My husband and I spent 3 days at the Hotel Bucaneros in January. We loved being on the main street close to everything. The family who own and run the hotel are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfasts were good with the fruit plates and fresh squeezed orange juice above and beyond what we expected. The price was amazing.

Nice hotel located in centre of Isla Mujeres

Posted Jul 18, 2016
Pros: Location - Cleanliness - friendly staff - quietness - near the beach and necessities
Cons: For tourists coming from around the world, would be appreciating to have staff that speaks better English.
Location: Shopping: lots of souvenir shops around. Rent a bike, scooter or golf cart in order to go around the island and visit. Beautiful beach nearby.
Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful although the majority did not speak much English. Was impressed with how clean the room was. The room was cleaned every day of our stay. Everyday we got clean towels and our bed sheets were changed frequently. The room was quite small but we were grateful to have air conditioning along with fan that worked well. We also took advantage of the fridge in our room. The hotel is very well located as it is close to the ferry and on the main street with all the necessities around (grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants,...) and walking distance to the beach. Although its location in the centre, our room was very quiet. We were a little deceived by the fact that the hotel terrace was closed to the public as it was under renovations during our stay and we were not advised of this situation during our booking. Plus we had no private balcony. All in all, we would certainly reccomend this hotel to our friends and family as it was very abordable and confortable.

Clean, close to restaurants and shopping. Short walk to beach. But they put me on the 3rd floor, 50 steps up. Nice continental breakfast.

Simple hotel in a great center-town location

Posted Mar 3, 2016
Hotel is on the central pedestrian-only street of the touristy but laid-back island. It's a great location. They gave us an upgraded room when adding another family member to our trip. I liked having a simple safe in the room to leave passports, computer, and cash.

Clean, great location

Posted Feb 28, 2016
Pros: What you get for the money and very clean
Cons: They need to check when they clean the rooms that they leave what you need, once we ran out of toilet paper and one time they forgot clean wash clothe
Location: In the heart of things and a five minute walk to the most gorgeous beach!
Small but clean rooms right in the heart of town. Especially liked the room on the back side of the hotel as it was quiet there. When we needed extra washcloths, toilet paper etc, they were helpful. Comes with a great little continental breakfast including fresh cut up fruit, cereal, yogurt, rolls and coffee. All you need if you are looking for a great beach getaway. For the money, I'd go again in a heartbeat!

Nice hotel on Hidalgo and close to the restaurants

Posted Jan 16, 2016
It was one of the best Hotel we had while traveling in the Yucatan peninsula. The balcony was giving on Hidalgo and it was very pleasant to have a drink while enjoying the "vibe" of this street. The room was sometimes not that quiet in the morning because of sanitation trucks, however, the overall experience we had was what we expected.
