Bargain for Hotel, Food & Bev not so much

Posted Dec 9, 2016
Pros: The Staff, the Beach
Cons: The food, the drinks, the bar could & should be open later for all inclusive guests.
Location: The hotel is located in the "hotel district". $1 bus ride to downtown or other hotel district locations
The hotel was basic, tile floors, cement walls, HARD mattress! We did an "all-inclusive". This was fairly disappointing. All the meals were served buffet-style in the only "restaurant" (no menu - all buffet)...and quite candidly, they were sub-par. The food was often not hot, picked over, and had a sameness to it every day. There was limited food at beach (nasty burger!). By the 4th day, we were going to town to eat (and pay). The drinks were cheap off brand variety, and didn't seem very strong most of the time. Further, there is only one main bar, and a bar near the beach. The beach bar closes at sundown, the main at 11pm. There are NO options for a drink after 11pm...pretty odd for an "all-inclusive". I'd stay away from the all-inclusive. However, the cost was probably 1/2 of what any other resort would charge for "all-inclusive". The guests were almost all non-English speaking locals, and the staff speaks primarily Spanish...very few of the staff could speak English, although the front desk (most importantly) did....so the language barrier was no problem. On the positive side: The staff was really great. Particularly "Houdiny" (day time bartender who was very entertaining, friendly, & fun..plus he went out of his way for us...other than bar-related things.) Also we loved "Cesar", who did volleyball, etc...he was so very nice & helpful to us. Also, the beach was very nice, although the swimming area was VERY limited by the on duty life guar

The beach was wonderful

Posted Dec 9, 2016
The hotel staff had attitudes. The room was nasty with blood stains on the sheets. We were told that the hotel did not provide face towels. It took forever to get two bath towels when there were clearly two people in the room. When we finally received the addirional bath towel we noticed the next day after the cleaning lady left that those were the same bath towel i had the night before because it still had my lipstick on it. They just re-folded it. The only amazing part of this stat was the beautiful view of the ocean! The all inclusive was not all inclusive either. This trip ruined both my husbands and my birthday celebration!!!!!

Not worth it! Pay for overall COMFORT!

Posted Oct 25, 2016
Pros: The Beach
Cons: Nothing
Location: Restaurants, shopping Malls and night entertainment
Horrible Hotel! If you don't mind bugs getting in your stuff and having to throw it away, back pain from a hard mattress and staff not properly cleaning the room. Go ahead and book this place. It was a horrible experience for my wife and I. We where their too relax after a long day of exciting tours not to receive headaches from the issues we had with this place. We actually read the reviews from this place but chose to think people where just exaggerating. Turns out they where right it was cheap but we actually regret not paying the extra for a better place. We tried upgrading to a better rooms turns out the only thing better was the ocean view instead of the lagoon view. Staff didn't understand we didn't care about the view we cared about how good the rooms cleanliness and comfort would be. This place has potential to eventually make better money either their comfortable with what the hotel makes and don't really care about anything else. Places like these seem to forget the basics of overall customer service. Spend the money fix this place up to a place that tourist will happily wear your bracelets and they might eventually make more money than what they spent fixing it, it's on a great beach area anyway.

Dear Mr Dorantes , we are really sorry for what you describe as a worst experience, we have 89 more rooms writting grettings for our staff, rooms, and of course about the amazing rates we offer, as the one you get, but this not means a cheap room has to be bad or with a poor quality; this is not our main goal but thank you for your comments we take all them to improve and get better always. best regards

Nice and quite

Posted Oct 24, 2016
Location: It is close to shopping centers and to the Cancun's night life by bus not to far.
Third time at this resort, I love it because of the views, the sea and must the staff, reception staff is not too friendly besides the bellboy we were missing one baggage and they do not have any clue of any phone number for any air line I guess they should improve in that. Bartenders Houdini and Juan are awesome, they make you laugh and have good time, they know what they do for sure, restaurant staff is amazing specially Carmen the manager at night she knows really how to do her job, all were friendly. The hotel is old and the food is good, I mean it is not a 5 stars but it makes the job, missing someone to do activities in the beach or in the pool like last year we went. missing some wifi spots but who needs internet while you have the sea in front of you right?

A Thorough Review

Posted Sep 15, 2016
Pros: The pool bar was fun. The snack bar was nice also. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Provide water bottles with all-inclusive or have more filtered water dispensers around the facility. Allow more towels for guests each day...
Location: It's Cancun. You can find so many activities. We went to Coco Bongo, Isla Mujeres, released baby sea turtles into the ocean, and went to Xplor park.
Stayed here for a week in September. The service was good. We had all inclusive, which does not include premium drinks or premium snacks. However, you get all the food at the buffet in the restaurant, and access to as many alcoholic beverages at you like. And they make 'em strong and delicious! The food was ok. They seem to use the same sauce or base ingredients in all their main dishes. Seemed quite carbolicious and oily. But, they always have salad and fruit for health conscious eaters. There were some quirky things about the stay here. The pool closes at 8pm but the pool bar stays open until 11pm. I think they should both close at the same time so that people can sit at the pool-side of the bar until the moment the bar closes. Also, if you get all inclusive, you must wear your wrist band the entire time. You cannot remove it without cutting it off, and cutting it voids it. Finally, you get one hotel towel key per person, and if you lose the key, there's a $60 fee. The weather was great. Only twice did it rain - once at night when there was a thunderstorm and it poured - the other during the day and it sprinkled for an hour or so. Otherwise it was sunny, hot, and the ocean was warm all week. The red flags were out on the beach all week, but the water wasn't that bad. Even kids were in the ocean with their parents. All in all, the stay was good for the price we paid. We had a lot of fun and met a lot of nice people. If you're on a budget, this is the perfect hotel for you
