The property is run down and has seen better days. The room smelled musty but got better once the AC was on. There is no value for your money except that the staff are knowledgeable and went over and beyond to make the stay a pleasant one. Too bad the building doesn't match the high standards of it's personnel. The area felt safe, ADO bus terminal was close by and there were many dining choices near by.

The hotel was clean and we really enjoyed the swimming pool and the spa. We both had hot rock massage. The front desk staff were very helpful in getting information about taxis and buses. The TV in the room was an old tube style TV you can only get Mexican channels and you cannot connect With your tablet to watch English movies and YouTube. There is no microwave or fridge in the rooms. We bought a cooler box and bought ice. We would gladly stay again. The restaurants nearby are reasonably priced and good. The hotel is close to the R1 bus For going to the beach. It is also close to ADO.

Very loud area. Bar across the street had very loud music until 3:30 or 4am in the morning on the weekends. Only 1 lounge chair in the pool area. Room was not as shown on website. Paid for breakfast option and was provided limited menu to select from

I had a time here the customer service was exceptional. They were honest and catering. I stayed for one night only because I ended up coming to Mexico earlier than planned but even still I was properly tended to. Yes the standards are different but when you come from another country it’s best to embrace the different standards of living. The massage I got here was literally out of body. Beyond what I needed and it carried me the rest of the trip. I would definitely recommend this place.

This hotel has a beautiful interior. Never seen another like it. Rooms are simple but clean. Have stayed here a few times and love the Aztec decorum.

The location was excellent if you know how to use public transportation. We did, so we got to wherever we wanted to go in Cancun for less than a dollar. No blankets on bed and only sheets. Difficult when sharing a bed. The pool bar claimed the internet was down so wanted me to pay cash. I refused and told them to charge it to my room. Magically the internet was back up in about 10 minutes, which by the way, during the same 10 minutes, the front desk was up and running.and having no problems processing cards. This is becoming way to common in Mexico. If the business does not want to pay the credi card fee, then dont accept them. The front desk was always helpful. No problems there. The restaurant had a wonderful breakfast at a lower cost than neighboring restaurants. No problems there. It was still a good experience but no having blankets is reason enough for me to not return unless I packed my own, which I wont do. If this does not bother you, then it is a hood deal with access to public transportation and restaurants, entertainment, and markets. Great location!

Price was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the way they designed the hallways. Swimming pool area needs to be cleaned better and more often. There were pieces of a child's diaper on the bottom of the pool for at least two days. I personally skimmed the pool of leaves before we swam each day but I did enjoy the pool very much. However, due to the great staff, the pool and the general area we would stay here again. One last thing: On Friday's the nearby music played until dawn. Yes, all night long. Nearby restaurants play until near midnight. We were all so tired, we still slept but it can be noisy at night.

The staff was pleasant and professional. There are also many restaurants within walking distance which was needed. However, the photos of the hotel are from better days. The only air conditioning was in the room so checking in and walking to the room was a pretty hot process. Before the evening was done I had booked at another hotel which was fully air conditioned for about the same money. In truth the hotel were I re-booked was dealing with construction right in front of the hotel so that may have benefited me.

The property had an interesting vibe to it, and with a little polish would be a very nice stay in the center. Unfortunately when we went to bed the first night we noticed that the sheets were terribly stained and obviously had not been changed. While the property advertises wifi, it's only in the common areas and nothing in your room. The sink in the washroom was in terrible shape, the towel rack in the bathroom hangs right over the toilet so makes it challenging to dry your towels and use the bathroom. Finally my vehicle was damaged in the parking lot and I asked several times to have the video reviewed so we could determine who did it and they never got back to me so now i'm out 30 k for fixing it myself.

While I knew it wouldn't be a 5 star hotel when booking I didn't anticipate it to be so ROUGH!!! I wanted to give my husband the authentic Mexican experience but even I was taken aback. CON'S: The doors are paper thin, made of wood & not sturdy The lobby had no air conditioning for guests The room door had manual locks with keys!!! The bathroom had a window with no curtain or privacy The beds are placed on cement platforms - no box The floor is of cement/tiles - OUCH!!! You hear everything from the bar next door No Wi Fi in rooms - just lobby The toilet was broken, rusty and noisy - they came to fix PRO'S: Very inexpensive - we were able to pay for a lot of tours Very close to bus routes Close to markets and Parque de las Palapas Cleaning staff is friendly and great No hidden fees at check out Staff great at giving advice and directions when asked WiFi fast in lobby Authentic Mexican experience Close to local hospital Taxi's always available Always felt safe coming in and out of the hotel Loved the Mayan hotel decor US Currency posted daily to help shoppers Many, many pharmacies surround this location Towel animals on the bed daily - super cute I dealt with the less than good conditions for 6 days and I wouldn't say it was the worse but not somewhere I would return again unfortunately. You truly get what you pay for :) Viva Mexico!!!!

We got what we paid for. We were looking for less expensive options and Xbalamque was a nice fit for what we were looking for. We wanted downtown so we were closer to stuff my wife wanted to go to. The bed was comfy. the bathroom worked fine and the room was cleaned every day. We went in knowing it was not going to be one of the new hotels and it was just fine. The people were nice and friendly. Only thing that was tough was that I am ADA and our room was in a section on the second floor and had no elevator so it was a chore getting up and down but we made do. It was not fancy but it worked and my wife and I were happy.
