Nice hotel, great food. Nice room

Great hotel. Food was excelent, the view was great. The room was clean. Close to the beach.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel, but wish the beach was larger. Food decent, but Excellent service made up for everything

Wonderful staff; disappointing beach

First stay at Occidental; visited with my husband and two kids (ages 8, 11). The best part of this resort is the staff; they are hard working and incredibly kind & helpful. The rooms are okay but the bathrooms are too small. Food is okay and drinks were good. Loved the pool. Beach had plenty of lawn chairs but was small and due to it's location, had no waves. Very middle of the road resort. Won't likely return.

Pay a little more for a better resort

Nasty food, nasty drinks, very small resort, nothing to do at resort, room is clean but old, front desk staff rude

Well worth the money you spend (and then some).

Pros: Service. Dinners at the restaurant. Drinks. Pools.
Cons: Quality of buffet - especially for breakfast.
Location: Beach is part of the resort. Didn't leave the resort that much.
Short vacation with three friends. Excellent and friendly service. Drinks were great and dinners at the restaurant were awesome. Food at the buffet was good - some things were blah while others were great such as the pasta bar. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Nice hotel, great calm beach.

Pros: Liked the pool and beach areas. All-inclusive was nice.
Cons: Nightly shows were nice but they could mix it up a bit with different type of shows. They were all dance shows. Maybe have singing one night, etc.
Location: Was close to airport. Things nearby but we didn't really leave the resort.
My family of 8 had a great time at this all-inclusive. Facility was nice. Beach area was small but big enough and had calm water so was very comfortable to wade and play in. Food was good and staff very friendly. We had a wonderful time.

Poor Customer Service

Pros: Pool, the pool staff /activity staff.
Cons: Customer Service, All Inclusive,
Location: Ferry to Isla Mujeres was next door, bus stop across the street Convenience store across the street. FAR from most other resorts and the restaurants
First off the resort credit is a 10-25% off selected services in which I had to ask about it when I got there for the lady to give me the paper explaining it. She did not inform me that I needed to bring the paper back at checkout if I used any of the services on the list to get a discount. Why would I need to when you see my reservation says $500 resort credit in which my discount was $3.50 SMH. All inclusive really is not. Only the bottom shelf alcohols are included. Grey Goose and Jose Cuervo are an additional $6 a drink. The liquor seems to be watered (this was not just my opinion but most people's opinion at the pool and that we spoke to around the resort). My sister and I got sick from either the ice or the food. My sister was so sick she could not leave the room for an entire day. When I went to the restaurant during lunch to try to get some soup and crackers so she could get something in her stomach, they said I could not unless I wanted to be charged a room service fee which is not included w/ the all inclusive. I asked for a manager. After waiting 10 minutes for the waiter to try to find a manager he came back and asked my room number and told me to go ahead and take it. This is absolutely ridiculous. Housekeeper was pretty good, but a few times she came to clean the room, she took our old wash clothes, but did not leave any new ones. You can not get bottled water at the bars or restaraunts, only in room.

Complaint

First of all it was a lie about$500 credit. Also, with Expedia mess up my shuttle pick up for Friday. Also, someone stole $20 out of my room. I will never return to that hotel again. I feel I got srewed over.

Pros: All-Inclusive- no need to worry about anything. just go and enjoy
Cons: Free Wi-Fi
Location: enjoy all of the hotel amenities... If you're leaving the hotel, I recommend Chichen Itza or Xcaret during the day and Coco Bongo's at night
Better than I expected. Really good customer service, food was better than I anticipated, entertainment was also top notch. I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a way for a few days.
