Close to the beach, but that's it!

When we arrived, the first impression was wow because the view of the center of pyramid 3 was beautiful. We were greeted by Antonio at the front door & gave us our luggage tag. He said after we check-in, to come back & he will take us to our room. After we checked-in and they explained the restaurants to us. We were suprised that a few of the restaurant is not part of the all inclusive. The restaurants that are part of the all-inclusive, you have to make a reservation for. Since we arrived in the afternoon, the only reservation available was to the restaurant that was not our choice. Christian, the staff that was explaining this to us, managed to book us a reservation for the following night to the restaurant of our choice, but at 9:30 pm! We had our late lunch at Blue Agave, the tacos were great! I recommend it. Then we went back to look for Antonio, but he's no where to be found. The guy told us, "ok just go to ur room and we'll bring your luggage there." We had to ask him for directions to our room. It was disappointing because we saw a lot of the doorman accompanying guests to their room with their luggage. When we got to our room, which was level 0, the view was a wall! Our room looked clean, but the safe was broken and a guy had to come in and fix it. There was a clock and a lamp by the bed but the outlet was broken! There was a leaked in our shower! So much more to mention but not enough space. It was over all disappointing!

Great vacation

We were in Royal Service. We checked in early and there was a room ready for us which was great . Check in was quick and everyone was really nice. SERVICE- the service we had was absolutely amazing. We were treated like VIP. Everyone at the pool was very attentive. The minute we were done with our drinks there was another one in our hands. They all knew what we were drinking and had it ready..We had Bali beds in the daytime which was included with Royalservice for no charge. We were able to get them in different areas which was great. . RESTAURANTS- La Palapa was at the pool area in Royal Service. Small menu but the food was great and our waiters went out of their way to get whatever we wanted to eat. Beautiful ocean views. Even if some things were not on the menu they made it for us. Valerie, Oscar, were awesome .The buffet was good . We rarely ate there. .There was always a large selection and every night for dinner was a different theme. Bana(sushi) and Fuego were very good I did not like Mole at all. This was the Mexican restaurant and the food was terrible. We were expecting authentic. We would have loved maybe Seafood enchiladas, fish or shrimp tacos, there were no beans and rice. Vento was o.k. The royal service lounge nice with small food choices cocktails and coffee all day long.ENTERTAINMENT- Royal Service pool has no music. It was boring. We want the adult side but we definitely want to hear some upbeat music. Besides the night club nothing for adults.

A true Paradise

Pros: It was big, clean, and the people go out of their way to make your stay a happy comfortable one. What's there not to like?
Cons: If you advertise as an ocean view room then it should be a true ocean view room
Location: A lot of water activities.
Was very happy there. It was like a true paradise. The staff there was extremely nice and polite. I loved being there. The only downside was that I had to leave because my vacation came to an end. I would definitely go there again. This is a 5 star resort in all aspects.

Great Hotel with great view

My wife and I upgraded to the room with a view and it was definitely worth it. The rooms were clean the staff was excellent (they took this resort to a a new level), we enjoyed the resorts activities, the food options, etc. The only (minor) issue was that our room was supposed to include 1 King bed, instead we got 2 queens, but everything else was perfect!! We wanted to go back within two days of being back home

I would rather pay $500 to be hit with a bat.

Pros: My kid liked the kids club. I question the safety and supervision of the place but she’s alive so we’re all good.
Cons: The last 2 nights we were awoken at 3 am by a guy using a power buffer on the floor in the hallway. Don't do that. Or stop when we call and beg.
Location: Best thing to do is carry your stuff to another hotel.
Just got back from 6 days at Paradisus Cancun. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I either need another vacation to anywhere else on the planet or need a time machine to have never taken this vacation. To put it in perspective, my wife and I have enjoyed probably 30 all inclusive vacations and I have never left a negative review. I rate the Flamingo as a 3.5 star hotel. We stayed at the Paradisus in both Playa and DR and they were great. This was a tragedy by beach vacation standards. Lets start with the room. Dated. No big deal. Beds are hard and really wore on both of our backs (I’m 39), still, no big deal. The air conditioner sounded like a diesel engine, just crazy loud. It got the room cool, when it was on, when it kicked off, immediately to humid. Door is paper thin, more on this to come. Best part of the room was not 1 but 2 sets of blinking green lights. A set in the middle for the router and a set for the smoke detector which was literally on the ceiling above right where your faces go. 2 sets of blinking green lights. All week. Is this some sort of experiment? It appeared a prior subject had placed a band-aid over the lights at some point. One band-aid remained but no-longer covered the light. I had no band-aids. Bring duct tape or blinders.

Fantastic view from the room

That said, the beds were terribly uncomfortable- but who cares... The view more than made up! The room wasn't quite ready when they gave it to us- the shower was wet, the mini bar wasn't stocked and the there was a broken pen left in pieces by the bedside. They never replenished the coffee in the room after first use. Buffet was good- big spread as expected but it quite there in the taste meter. Very difficult to made reservations at their Asian place- it was always booked no matter when you called. Staff is super polite and very helpful. Overall, a good stay.

First Cancun visit

Pros: Service was excellent. Getting buckets of cold water, beer and drinks at the huts/beach was very special
Cons: Food prepared on grill serving the main pool area wasn't good. Air circulation in the main building needs improvement.
There was 9 of us in our party - 8 adults and one child. We stayed a week. We enjoyed most of the facilities; including one of the main pools and the huts on the beach.

Amazing place! Everything about it and I would forsure stay there again. The good was great and so was the staff. Hector was the best butler! I would recommend upgrading to royal service because it was totally worth it!!
