Nice VacationPosted May 17, 2016
Pros: Beautiful property, good food and drinks, really nice beach with snorkling, Krystal and Sakura restaurants
Cons: They could reserve some restaurant dinner spots for those checking in that day. Wish the music at the adult pool was a little less obnoxious.
Location: Great location if you're looking to go out to the clubs on the strip. Tours also run directly from the hotel to the Mayan ruins.
Stayed 6 nights for our honeymoon in a jacuzzi suite. The room itself was wonderful, very private corner suite, large living room area and big bathroom with a separate shower and a shower/bath combo. The balcony was a huge wraparound with a stunning view and large hot/cold jacuzzi. They do a good job of always keeping a drink in your hand when you're in a public area of the hotel, though you'll get faster service if you sit closer to the main pool by the bar. The specialty cocktails are all delicious. The breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet was huge and had pretty much any cuisine you would want. They need to do a better job at keeping the birds away on the outdoor grill though. The 4 restaurants are all really great, though our favorites were the Krystal fusion and Sakura Japanese restaurants. Krystal was amazing- they really made the whole meal an experience and the food and wine were really creative. My one gripe was that you have to make dinner reservations 2 days in advance, and the better restaurants fill up very quickly so you better get down early in the morning. We stayed long enough that we were able to make reservations for all 4 restaurants, but it was a bit disappointing that we couldn't have a fancy dinner the first two nights we were there. We didn't go in the adults only pool once as it was full of loud music and rowdy spring breakers playing the facilitated games. The main pool and beach were quieter, and the left of the pier has some great snorkling.

This was without a doubt the best hotel I have ever stayed in and frankly the first time I was not ready to come home. Loved the afternoon grasshoppers that they met us with in the afternoon. The food was fabulous and although I normally don't like buffet I ate there all the time. I do however think room bar service coul s better when ordering sodas and they need didn't refill coffee. Yes I know it was downstairs but I like it when I get up and are still in my pj's. All in all I would come back in a heartbeat and will try to book riu in other countries. Thanks for a great vacation

GOOD STAY/EXCELLENT LOCATIONPosted May 15, 2016
Pros: Beach and smaller size so it made it more personable. The location is 10 of 10 to explore.
Cons: Updating look inside which is upcoming.
Location: So many fun things within walking distance, restaurants, bars, clubs, and beaches.
This hotel will be remodeled soon to adults only. If you are going now, it is clean and beaches and pool are awesome. The staff are friendly and the food is decent. I recommend mixing it up by going and eating on the strip which has many options. If you go, try Porfirios mexican restaurant on the strip. It is a 10 minute bus ride down the beach and the best food I think in all of cancun. This hotel is small and private. The smallest of the 4 RIU in Cancun. I enjoyed my week stay here and met some really cool people traveling from Europe. I would stay here again. If you are traveling with kids currently, this is a good spot. There was only a small amount of kids when we were there May 7-14. But it is kid friendly. If you are young and want to party, this may not be the place for you. The hotel is not the party place but down the street and stip is close so it would work out. Enjoy.

Excellent servicePosted May 15, 2016
Pros: There are two pools..a noisy one and a quiet one. Perfect if you want entertainment or just a nice place to read or relax. The beach was very nice.
Cons: Water pressure in the shower was often low.
Location: Across the street from a shopping center, easy to take the local bus and safe too as long as you are careful.
We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed it thorouhly. Check in was easy and Pavel at the front desk was so helpful. He even called several days later to make sure everything was okay with our room. Pablo was always helpful with dining reservations and we never had a problem getting the ones we wanted (we always ate early). Our room was very clean and comfortable (we had a suite with jacuzzi, the only way to go if you are staying for awhile). Food was excellent...the first night there was prime rib on the biffet. Drinks were great....there were top brands available. All in all it was a fun and relaxing experience.

BEST VACATION EVER. PERFECT LOCATION, BEAUTIL HOTEPosted May 11, 2016
Pros: Everything, the view from our room was amazing, great food and different menu daily for diner
Location: Perfect location this hotel is in the heart of Cancun, lots of shopping center and Malls right across from the resort and 20 mins with the bus to D/T
Cancun is beautiful and if you are going choose Riu Place, I was upgrade to a suite for free, food was great we only eat at the buffet, but some folks eat at the restaurant and the said the food was also good, room service was great the clean twice per day, well stack bar liquor, water, beer, soda. The hotel is so beautiful you don't want to leave it, 1 day we take the bus to downtown, and it was save. breathless view, clean beach and pool and plenty of chairs and space for everyone, the have 2 huge pools and 3 hot tub, they have a quite pool and a party pool so something for everyone. they have different entertainment shows every night at 9:45pm food and drinks are always available, and can not say enough good things about the staff, they work their heart to make you happy, many people we talk to was there 2nd and 3rd time, and we are definitely going back. Best 5 days of our live, trust me it worth it to spend the few extra bucks and go here, our entire experience was great from booking with Expedia to shuttle service etc. Thank you and see you soon again.
