Read Expedia's fine print before booking!!!

Pros: Hotel is not very large
Cons: More restaurant choices
Expedia does not explain clearly that this is a time shared property!!!!! As soon as we arrived to the hotel the staff notified us that although we were there for only five nights , we would be moved to a different room after a couple of nights,due to the fact that time shared owners would be coming in and would need to be accommodated. Very inconvenient !!! Hotel staff accommodated us at the end, and kept us in the same room; but after spending our first hour at the lobby trying to have Expedia resolve this issue!!

Spacious Hotel on the beach

Pros: This hotel is all suite but really is 'all condo'. The spacious two bedroom suites with Kitchens/dining areas are perfect for families who like space
Cons: The beach is terrible if you like to swim or play in the ocean. Its extremely shallow and vegetation grows in much of the area for swimming
Location: We did a 2 hour surf lesson with independent "Surf 360" that was a big hit. Everyone was up and surfing within the first hour
The Royal Cancun is a suite hotel north of the hotel district. The two bedroom suites are especially spacious and comfortable. On the downside, their beach is very poor! With vegetation growing nearly up to the low tide mark, there isn't much room to swim. Nearly impossible to get reservations at any of Royal's affiliated restaurants in Cancun, even the Italian one in the hotel itself! We won't be back.

Towel dispenser to far from pools and beach.

One tiny bar opens four hours only , there is no entertainment at night what so ever , is boring

This hotel uses timeshare. I had no idea what it is prior coming there. I found out that even though I had all inclusive people who have timeshares in the hotel have privilege over the other guests. My suit was over parking lot and it was impsssible to upgrade it. They kept saying it's a holiday season but it was obvious that there were empty better suits available. Also there was only one normal restaurant which the only option to make a dinner was at 5;00 or 9:30. We were there with the kids so not only we were placed far away from swimming pool and the restaurant was not available at convenient time. Moreover most of the time we had to use main buffet to eat which was open throughout the day, we tried to order out of the manue waiters weren't to happy about that trying to convince us to eat dry food from buffet. I'm very disappointed with this hotel, knowing that I spent so much money for outr trip. There is completely no entertainment at night.

Hotel located at the best swimming beach

Pros: Location and calm beach.
Cons: Activities and water equipment seem to be booked up all the time and require advance reservation. More equipment may be nice.
Location: Nice calm swimmable beach. Basketball and tennis courts were fun. Nice visit to Royal Sands, Veranda Restaurant, Captain's Cove and Conquistador.
We stayed 5 days/4 nights at Royal Cancun master villa. It was situated next to Palapa Restaurant and right in front of the beach. The master villa was awesome: 2 master beds with connecting baths. There is also a 3/4 bath downstairs for total of 3. Rooms were very clean. Kitchen had everything you need. More hanging hooks in the bathrooms would be an added bonus. The air conditioning was a bit loud. WiFi was fast. The hotel staff was very friendly, efficient and professional. They were cleaning all the time. I wish Trattoria would open for lunch as well. We just could not get a reservation in. Palapa restaurant had the basic fare, nothing fancy. Karaoke night was a bit annoying and loud since the singers weren't too good. The activities office was far from the beach so if you had to reserve beach equipment, you had to go all the way back to the office near the tennis courts. The paddle board, kayaks, snorkel gear, basketball and tennis equipment were all include and were great fun but you had to reserve in advance since it seems like they want to avoid overcrowding the beach. My son had diarrhea for 2 days toward the end of the stay. Not sure what he ate but I'm suspecting the mango daiquiri (no alcohol) that he drank from the beach side bar. I would recommend avoiding the ice just in case though I had a bunch of alcoholic mixed drinks with no problem. Perhaps you need alcohol to get rid of the offending germs!

Beachside Studio

Pros: Quieter and friendly staff.
Cons: Buffet food was the same every day.
Location: The access to activities you can organise and get to right on site was great. We did scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, paddle boarding, para saiing
We had a 2 bedroom beachside studio. Was great to open the doors in the morning and the beach was right there. The room was a good size and very clean. It's a quieter hotel than others, which we really liked and we have to kids. It was easy to know their whereabouts and the kids club was great for the younger one. Will definitely be back to this hotel.

Pristine condition with fantastic staff

For an older property, it is amazing how well maintained this resort is. Absolutely one of the cleanest best kept properties we have ever stayed. The staff is incredible... personable, and go out of their way for any request.

Great family feel, beautiful spot

Lovely location. The site is great and has a family feel. Doesn't feel huge and overwhelming like some of the other large hotels in the "zone".

Nice hotel close to a calm beach

Very nice hotel. Restaurant sometimes with waiting line, but nothing bad. Recommend to stay. Excellent to relax and enjoy with the family.

kids friendly resort.!!!!!!

We just come back from the vacation. Our friends' family and my whole family stayed there for 7 nights. It was wonderful. All the kids love it. It's a very kids friendly resort. Highly recommend!!!!
