Fantastic place to stay

Pros: Clean, huge rooms, your own deck, cooking facility.
Cons: Move the bar away from the dinning room entrance. Cigarette and cigar smoke don't go with foods.
Location: Hop on the bus and have fun downtown Cancun.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly (Thank you Angel) The foods at the restaurant were very good, the ocean view was spectacular.

Very humid rooms, uncomfortable to sleep

Room was extremely humid, even with the AC on full blast. Constantly felt sticky and as a result sleeping was extremely uncomfortable. I get that we're in a tropical place so humidity is not uncommon, but I've stayed in other hotels in Cancun, Bahamas etc. and never experienced this problem. Based solely on this, I would not stay at the Royal Islander again because to me, it really made a huge difference. Other than that, the beach was beautiful, hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast buffet was delicious.

Excellent condo right on the beach

Pros: Location by the beach. Top notch service. Reasonable prices.
Cons: Freshen up the bathroom and kitchens.
Location: On the beach. Close to restaurants, golf, shopping and entertainment
This is my second stay at this condo. 4th stay with Royal Resorts. I will definitely return. I highly recommend The Royal Islander - An All Suites Resort . The prices are reasonable and the facilities are great. The entire staff is wonderful. Very friendly and service is top notch. The resort is getting older but it is well maintained. Needs some repairs and freshening but overall very nice. TV was not working and within 30 minutes we had a new one. maid service was fantastic.

Mean people and not good hotle

They just want to take ur money way or another they talk in spainsh so we do not understand and they do that with taxi and lie a lot and the room was normal not deserve the price please save ur money and go to another hotel

Breathtaking view of ocean from balcony

Pros: It had everything we needed.
Cons: The concierge is not a concierge and we didn't know it. All they are is a sales agent. They promised help with two excursions then did not help.
Location: Right on the water in the hotel zone. Taxis and shuttles and buses take you anywhere you want to go.
We had an entire suite and loved it. The location and view were excellent.

Super ocean view. Great beach.

Pros: Very friendly staff. Very clean. Great location. Quiet and peaceful when you want it, easy access to crazy when you're looking for it.
Cons: The need to change rooms on Saturday is a bit inconvenient, depending on their bookings. It would be good to avoid that, but the upgrade was nice.
Location: Lots. It's Cancun!
Incredible time. We stayed from Friday to Friday. Their change-over day is on Saturday because this place is mostly owned weekly time shares. Because we needed to move rooms the day after we arrived they upgraded us from ocean view to beach front-ocean view. Awesome, and worth the slight inconvenience of moving. None of the hotel ammenities accept cash or credit so everything is charged to the room. We were skeptical about this but the prices were very reasonable and the room card tracked everything easily and accuately. When paying your bill at the end of your stay you can pay with credit, US dollars or your leftover pesos. This made the currency conversion planning easier. They also have a shuttle that will take you to the other Royal resorts on the Blvd so you can take advantage of a nice variety of ammentities, each slightly different from the other. They have an agreement with the marina across the streeet and we got to go sailing on their Sunfish sailboats for free (slight charge if you need lessons).

Beautiful view of the sea!

Pros: Low rates!
Cons: Rooms are rundown... Need extensive remodeling! This however, is a time share so not sure how that works.
Location: Hotel near a bus stop so their are many place that are accessible.
Staff very accommodating, however, in every room, there is a note, saying tips are how the staff make their living! I feel the hotel should give their employees a raise so that the guest don't feel like they have to tip everyone that they come in contact with.

Dated rooms!

Pros: English cable channels. Shower water pressure.
Cons: Modernize rooms.
Large rooms. Decorated like late 80's. Hair in shower and on ironing board. No ice machines. English speaking cable.

Not recommend. Rating of 4 stars was misleading.

Building is dated unless all stucco walls are to your liking. Room was ok. However, toilet did not work properly as we neared the end of our stay. Payment processing system did not allow us to pay with our American Express in Mexican pesos.
