Great location at a fair price.Posted Sep 4, 2017 on Hotels
Great location. Was quiet enough during the day just off a busy street and close to a lot of attractions.

Hotel Caprera - great location for commutingPosted Sep 2, 2017
This hotel was located very conveniently to the train and bus station (keep in mind this is not an ideal location if you are looking to be beside the Rialto Bridge...which is totally walkable if you like exploring places on feet). You literally could walk to this hotel with your luggage once you got into Venice. There are so many places to eat, souvenior shop, and explore this gorgeous water city. Staff were absolutely amazing! It looked like a family run business and each member was super polite, friendly and welcoming. The room sizes are quite deceiving, but we feel that about many European places. The room was comfortable to sleep in, but can't really move around much as it is quite small and compact. Washrooms were clean and maintained fairly well. We luckily had a private washroom and air conditioning so we were happy with that. Hotel staff were kind to lend umbrellas on a rainy day. The lighting in the rooms could improve to give you greater brightness. Unfortunately, we were on a higher floor which meant carrying our luggaes upstairs as there are no elevators. Overall, our experience was great and would recommend it!

Awesome location close to the train stationPosted Aug 23, 2017
We only spent one night at the hotel, but the manager was amazing as it was all the stuff! Definitely an older hotel but clean and comfortable. Or one night it was in an awesome location! And the free breakfast didn't hurt either. If you're thinking high-end luxury this probably isn't the place for you if you're thinking good value for the money this is it. And there's a cute cat who lives across the way who sits in the window and watches you as a bonus.

Excellent location to public transportPosted Jul 7, 2017
Stayed in Hotel Caprera between 3rd-6th July. Was welcomed by lovely person who was efficient and explained all check in, check out breakfast etc with us. Our room was spacious, clean but very simple. In room was: desk and 2 chairs, fan plugged in, bed with small shelves on either side with no plug nearby and a plug near to entrance of toilet. During the summer, a fridge would have been lovely to keep the water cool! The bathroom was simple with toilet, sink, bidet and shower with basic shampoo, soap and shower cap. There was a hair dryer on the wall. Most of the room was clean except the toilet had some easily washed marks but it was very clean and compared to the prices of other hotels, a bargain. Breakfast also very simple but still lots of choices to eat different things, clean and tasty a good way to save money in expensive Venice! The hotel staff were the friendliest ever and were always present for any questions or help needed. Bless, one hotel staff gave us a plate and knife for us to have our watermelon! Best thing about it was the location to public transport- didn't need to lug around suitcases for long from our bus and boats to every location just at our doorstep. Although it is a 20-30 min walk to St Marcs Square, it is close to many tripadvisor recommended restaurants and is slightly cheaper than restaurants around St Marcs. Overall really good hotel on a budget and excellent service by the hotel staff.

Close to trainPosted May 20, 2017 on Hotels
Great, affordable and convenient if you're coming in by train. Just off the main drag in a characistic alley, not all rooms have AC or a fan, so be sure to request even a portable fan to cool off. We stayed in May. Albert was a great help in every way.
