Stuffy but great location

Prepaid Room and hotel policy

Pros: The Location, very central just off rue d'Antibe, it was a quiet room. Comfortable bed
Cons: the hotel is undergoing refurbishment and I hope the furniture as well get changed.
I was under the impression I prepaid the 3 nights through Expedia, on check in the owner said that the hotel had not been paid by expedia and my expedia receipt that stated 0 balance was invalid, so I ask to check with expedia and let me know in case there were problems. On check out again owner insisted he did not get paid, I got furiuos he did not check with expedia. I had little time so the owner suggested I go without paying while he verified, assuring me I would not have to pay twice. I managed later to call expedia that said from our records the hotel takes the money within 72 hour of the reservation been made. Since I did it two months before they confirmed that 0 balance on invoice was correct. When I finally got back and checked my statement I noticed that the Hotel was right and expedia was wrong. I also saw that there was a transaction from the hotel made now for more than double the amount, causing me to cancel my card (this was a genuine mistake from hotel now resolved). I was of course not happy of the handling from both parts. The room was in need of desperate renovation and the bathroom was smelling of sewage.

Well priced hotel in a great location

The overall stay was very enjoyable. With friendly staff and an amazing location this hotel will provide you a great place to stay if you are travelling on a budget. The rooms were a bit tired but were clean and comfortable and the hotel wifi is very fast. We stayed for three nights and would not hesitate to stay again.

The dirtiest hotel ever

This location of the hotel is ideal. Smack in the center of Cannes, just 3 minutes to the beach, Croisette and Palais du Festival - and two blocks from the main railway station. But I have never stayed in a dirtier hotel. When I arrived, they gave me the key to my room. I found the room completely unmade. When I went back to reception they went to clean the room. OK, afterwards the bed was definitely made, but everything else remained really dirty (hairs in the bathtub, stains on surfaces, the really dingy carpet not vacuumed). I am really not squeamish, but I did not walk one step barefoot in this germ zoo. The curtain was really difficult to close, but I slept well - until nine, when someone decided that it was time to vacuum in the hallway in front of my flimsy door. People were nice and friendly though - they just didn't care about service or cleanliness. If you want a top location at a rock-bottom price and are not afraid of contamination, this hotel is could be good for you. I don't regret my choice, but this time I have reached my limit.
