Good location and great view.

Pros: The location is downtown Sydney is convenient, the room was large with a separate bedroom and a great view of the harbour. Staff kept the room well cleaned. The free coffee and tea at the front door was a nice touch.
Cons: The restaurant and breakfast are okay but not great.

There was nothing to really complain about. The rooms are nice, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the included hot breakfast was great!

aging hotel

Location: Location amazing Celtic pubs terrific Boardwalk exhilarating view of the harbour - all enticing.
|our view was spectacular and the staff friendly and courteous and helpful. The bathroom had mold around the grouting and the wall paper coming off in spots the living room sofa aging and drab the kitchenette very few dishes and glass ware. Towels were skimpy and poor quality no towels in kitchenette Breakfast adequate no fruit.

great location on harbour

Pros: Location
Cons: Should remind to book dining reservation if using hotel restaurant
Location: I was visiting my uncle and know area
Drove to hotel in hurricane after mat. Arrived 515 , when checked it told restaurant open at 5,when we done at 630, asked if we had reservation, they after a few minutes found us a table,Check in agent should tell patrons tha a reservation is necessary. Due to weather send no power throughout region we dined both nights the food in Trio restaurant was excellent. We liked hotel and breakfast both mornings. When I checked out I was shocked at the amount that area charges as a hotel levy I think $ 21.75 per day is a lot to charge

What's to Complain About?

Pros: The large suite was amazing!! The food convenient. Free breakfast better than most.
Cons: I have no criticism of the hotel.
Location: The entrance to the Cabot Trail is over an hour away. I would book closer to the trail if I were to go again. Go see the fiddle!!
Was a little pricier than the other places we stayed in Nova Scotia but was extremely nice. We had a king suite. 3 rooms--2 TVs. Right on boardwalk --short distance to the giant fiddle at the cruiseport. The 'Trio' restaurant in the Hotel was so convenient as we didn't want to go out. They had a very good Turkey dinner for Canadian Thanksgiving. The free breakfast was very good and eggs prepared differently the 2 days we were there. Don't miss the hot tub on the 8th floor--very nice!!

Hotel easily accessable/close to downtown

Pros: Facilities were clean, staff was friendly and efficient, great buffet breakfasts. Location was great on the harbour by a beautiful boardwalk
Cons: Everything was great! We had no complaints about anything

An amazing hotel experience

We arrived late and exhausted but the reception was warm and inviting. The room was clean and the king bed comfortable. Front desk staff pointed out the amenities including laundry services and a guest laundry for those do-it-yourself-ers. All the staff are friendly and helpful.... from Jeannette in housekeeping to Kirk in maintenance to the restaurant staff who made us dinner even though they were closing. The gold star definitely goes to Jane in management. We had had a spill in our suitcase..a smelly and heady spill. I was thinking I would have to garbage the case and get a new one but Jane said " Let me give it a try"... long story short we flew out with the same case. I don' t know how she did it but we got it back with a smile. I highly recommend this hotel. Each staff member, no matter where we saw them or how busy they were, to a person was willing to help with services or directions or whatever was needed. They made our stay very pleasant...they made us feel at home and appreciated from the Manager on down. We were and are very impressed. When in Cape Breton this is your best choice.

Perfect!

Pros: Great rooms; Extremely well located; And one of Sydney's best restaurants right there!
I needed to be in Sydney for only one night to attend meetings. The Cambridge Suites suited my needs perfectly.

Friendly Clean Hotel on Waterfront

Pros: Really friendly and helpful staff...comfortable bed....the waterfront....good food
Cons: Nothing that comes to mind...
Location: Location on a lovely waterfront boardwalk....beautiful sunsets.....

Room not in great condition.

Negatives: The room we stayed in was in need of an upgrade. The wall covering was peeling in a number of spots, carpet was frayed, furniture was kind of beat-up, and the sofa and chair were stained. The room had not been properly cleaned before we arrived - the carpet had obviously not been vacuumed and it looked as though surfaces in the living area hadn't been wiped down in a long time. Having said that, the bathroom and bedding seemed to be clean. The elevators are beat-up and dirty looking. Positives: Other than being in serious need of a cosmetic overhaul the hotel is/was quite nice. The included buffet breakfast was very good. Our room had a great view of Sydney Harbour. The fitness facility was quite good and had a nice sauna and hot-tub. Guests also have free access to the YMCA which is just around the corner. There were recycling recepticles in the room, including for organics. Conclusion: Not worth the money until they refurbish the rooms and do a better job of cleaning.
