Great location, clean rooms, free beach tags

Posted Aug 7, 2017
Pros: Amenities (beach tags, chairs, umbrella), good restaurant, friendly staff.
Cons: Internet speed.
Location: We could easily walk to the Washington Street Mall and the restaurants on the Promenade. There is a trolley that stops right in front of the hotel.
Montreal is a very nice hotel with clean, spacious rooms right across from the beach. Staff was very friendly, and check in was a breeze. We were given free beach tags and there was a stand on the beach where we got a free umbrella and lounges set up for us. You can even order food to be delivered to the beach from the restaurant. We never had trouble finding a parking spot, although the back lot is a little tight. The pool closed at a decent hour so we had no issues with noise. My only complaint was the Internet access was incredibly slow, so not useful at all. I only tried it in my room on the 4th floor, so it may be different in other parts of the hotel. Other than that, I think I would definitely stay here again.

Could be nice with realistic advertising & updates

Posted Jul 7, 2017
Pros: Hotel staff and location.
Cons: Accurate and true advertising. If they haven't been sued already, I am sure they will be soon.
Location: It's a great location for Cape May. Center of the main attraction area. Walking distance to everything.
We booked because of its location, which was great. Was in the middle of everything in Cape May. We also booked a "Suite", because it was supposed to be roomy and was supposed to have its own "Private Patio". So, we booked our one night $400 stay. We arrived early, but we were checked into our room anyway, which was nice. The front desk staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. I have nothing bad to say about them what so ever. Quick, pleasant and accurate. My problems are with the hotel and its advertising. The "Suite", well...it's a somewhat long and narrow room. Every area (wouldn't call them "rooms") in the suite were really tiny. The back room, to the patio, was so weird. Had a couch on one wall, a tiny TV on another wall and then a long bar table attached to another wall, with 3 chairs against it. So weird. Then, the "Private Patio". Well, their "private patios" off of their "suites" are nothing but the area outside the back sliding door....which is directly adjacent to your next door neighbors "private patio"...right on down the entire line of the hotel. Oh, and at the end of the "private patio" is the PUBLIC POOL. Trust me, there is nothing PRIVATE about this PRIVATE PATIO. Was so bad we actually laughed uncontrollably instead of getting mad, at the time. So, the two main reasons we booked the more expensive room, was a "suite" and had a "private patio" both just didn't exist. So, huge waste of money there.

Don't like Cape May

Posted Jun 2, 2017
The hotel is regular, the better experience is in Harrys by the local craft beer available. The room is regular, the bed not confortable, hard and noise. Each morning the cleaning personal talk strong. The parking is limited. In general not return more to Cape May, is old, the restaurants very expensive, an for enter the beach is necessary pay fee.

A stay worth the trip

Posted May 17, 2017 on Hotels
Room was very spacious, clean and well appointed. Close to cape may shops. Wonderful view of the beach. Has an excellent sun deck on the top floor. The staff was very friendly and catered to my needs. I have been visiting Cape May for years and this stay ranks among the best. Will definitely be returning to the Montreal in the future.
