OK Hotel Somewhat Close to Sites

Posted Nov 10, 2017
Pros: Very pleasant staff and excellent breakfasts.
Cons: Update the plumbing. Fix the window locks. Fix the loose fire escape door on the 2nd floor. Add some hangars and shelves for clothing etc.
Location: Lots of eateries nearby. Most tourist sites are a 15-20 minute walk away.
Our room was reasonably large, clean, but not very well furnished. The plumbing was ancient; handles would drop off the taps and the toilet tank ran continuously (surprising in a city that is on the verge of a serious water shortage). Our room had no hooks or hangars for towels etc. There were no shelves so we kept all our things in our luggage and on the floor. Our room window didn't have a lock. The safe didn't work. The fire exit door in the hallway kept slamming in the wind because the lock was broken. The staff were helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. The location is a 15-20 minute walk to the tourist area on Long Street. There are many good eateries nearby. There is free wifi only in the lobby.

The Hotel was accommodating, friendly and central.

Pros: I liked the hospitality as well as the look of the building, in that it has been maintained in its charm. The inside is the same, clean.
Cons: There are not many upgrades I can think of in that everything went smoothly. I left a pair of reading glasses of which the staff has been helpful.
Location: The location is near the city centre - walking distance to Long, Loop and Kloof street. Table Mountain, Cafe's, Shopping, Restaurants are close/safe.
My experience was great in that the location was super central to all of Cape Town's coolest spots. The staff made special arrangements upon check-in to make sure that our bags were safe, and a room was available immediately, starting the trip on a good note.

really enjoyed two nights at the hotel, very comfortable beds, room lovely comfortable temperature, location great and staff friendly and accommodating. Coffee available at all times, no fridge though which would've been nice.

You get you pay for. Basic 3 star hotel. Bit tired looking inside. Bathroom poor with no hot water. Breakfast included was very good choice with complementary coffee and water available from restaurant. Wifi only in reception area. Checkout at 10 am not 11 as listed on Internet

Very pleasant stay. Hotel seems old but cozy. Only one problem, only 2 of the TV channels worked properly.

Good location

Posted Jan 15, 2016
Pros: Location, road off Floof safe. Prefer Floof to Long Street better bars and restaurants, more up market. At the end of the night better area to be in
Cons: TV reception like elsewhere in Southern Africa poor
Thought previous comments harsh, room fine, pool small but ok, staff fine location good
