Enjoyable comfortable stay that I liked especially being on my own. However, the shuttle driver could be friendly instead of surly.

Very nice hotel in a perfect location in the city

Pros: Location and comfort.
Cons: Service in the Executive Lounge was slow.
Location: In the middle of everything, Short taxi rides to all locations, such as the Waterfront and the Table Mountain cableway.
The air conditioning in the room didn't work when we tried to turn it on the second day we were there. Upon calling the front desk a repairman came immediately and fixed the air conditioning, but he then wanted to test the heating and in doing so the thermostat caught fire. I've never seen that before but there was damage to to wall around the thermostat and the room smelled terribly. The hotel moved us to an upgraded room and gave us access to the Executive Lounge, which was very nice.

Poor hotel now being refurbished

Hotel is undergoing refurbishment which was not explained when booking. Room was in terrible condition (windows wouldn't open/close, bathroom had very damp smell, shower leaked badly etc.). Food delivered by room service was very poor quality and way too much use of microwaves! This should not be currently advertised as a 5* hotel at present - it is closer to a 3*. For similar price, stay at the Westin down the road!

Cape town adventure

Overall experience with this hotel was good. The hotel was clean and the rooms were nice. The few things or thing I had an issue with was the concierge. They are super helpful and really nice but they definitely are working with the taxis drivers to screw over tourists on rates. We spoke to a really nice local lady who worked at a museum and she said that the taxis no matter what shouldn't be more than 50 to 60 ran for the farthest distance in capetown. We would only go like 5 minutes and they charge 100-120 ran. Almost 3 times the amount it should be. They wouldn't turn on the meters when you asked them to just gave a flat rate then when talking with the concierge about it they said that's what they normally cost. I spoke to another concierge later in the day and he slipped up telling me it only costs him 8 ran to get to work from 15 minutes away with the meter. Other than ripping tourists off with the taxis they are really nice and helpful. O and don't walk alone at night near the hotel. Alot of vagrants begging for money and they are relentless they will follow you all the way to your destination.... I'm from Chicago and las vegas so I'm used to homeless asking for money but they are very very relentless here.

Pros: The staff was quite friendly, in particular the doormen.
- The hotel is in such a central location that I could go down to the Waterfront (where there are several shops and great restaurants) in about 5 minutes, by taxi - There were also plenty of places to go for nightlife, within walking distance - Super comfortable beds

Perfect hotel best location

5 minutes from table mountain. 2 minutes from Loop street. I mean it is a Hilton so it's guaranteed to be nice but this really is an excellent hotel! Very very friendly and progressional staff
