A GREAT UPDATED BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN A CONVENIENT LOCATION, WALKING DISTANCE TO THE SITES IN THE CENTRAL, TOURIST AREA.

Nice Hotel, good location.

Pros: Good size rooms, very friendly staff.
Cons: Happy with everything.
Location: Easy walking distance to waterfront and beach. Close to Long street with nice shops and good atmosphere. Lots of eating places close by.
Stayed at the Hippo for 4 nights in November, great location, good sized rooms. The staff very friendly and helpful.

Excellent location, good vibe!

Pros: Location. Clean room. Helpful staff.
Cons: If you are noise adverse, my room would not suit you. The noise from the bars below could be heard until after midnight. Did not bother me.
Location: Eat. Party. Shop. Walking tour.
Modern spacious room. My room had a balcony overlooking a lively street scene. Several restaurants were below me. I am a solo female traveler and felt safe even after dark in my neighborhood. I did a ten mile walking loop to the waterfront that was cool.

Top floor rooms best

Great rooms that are really well appointed, nice location for safety and restaurants. The hotel has no restaurant but is adjacent to one with several others within 30 seconds walk. Be forewarned: no elevator to get from ground floor to reception where there is an elevator; and we were not able to get assistance.

Unfortunately our guests are sometimes dropped at the front of the hotel where we have no elevator, we try and emphasize that our guests get taken to the car park where we have an elevator to reception and to the rooms. Hotel bem localizado, proximo a bons restaurantes. Limpeza deixou um pouco a desejar, mas nada que prejudicasse nossa estadia!

Great hotel

Even getting a knife pointed at me in the walk before Long Street nearby cannot disguise the fact this hotel is well situated and has great facilities. Brilliant staff and two fine bars/ restaurants to hang out in. The rooms are spacious and comfy. Really adored staying here and would again.

Hotel muito bem localizado e moderno!

Nossa estadia no Hippo Boutique foi ótima! O hotel tem uma ótima localização, bem próximo da Long St (que tem diversos restaurantes, baladas, etc) do Green Market, Company´s garden, etc. Além disso, o conceito de café da manhã deles é bem legal: eles nao tem cozinha no hotel, entao, todos os dias eles oferecem um voucher de R90 e vc vai conhecer um café próximo. É bem legal! Unico ponto é que nosso quarto era virado pra rua, bem embaixo dos bares, então, tinha um pouco de barulho. (nada mto alto, mas pra quem gosta de dormir no silencio total, talvez incomode um pouco). Se puder, peça quartos virado para os fundos.

Like the room that much better than what I expected. It has heat floor of bathroom, a small kitchen, and a big king bed. The comforter is a good quality. The location is convenient to take hip on/ off bus, supermarket, and all restaurants.

The location of this hotel was excellent. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Free WiFi is a must these days as is free parking. The only real disappointment was the lack of television channels and the only sport channels seemed to rely a lot on repays. Disappointing as our stay coincided with the Olympic Games.
