We were so happy with our room it is hard not to praise this lovely hotel/guesthouse. Breakfast was good, room cleaned daily and all staff very friendly and accommodating. Lovely clean pool.

Nice place - but careful of the drivewayPosted Feb 8, 2015
Pros: Breakfast Frankie - he works hard
Cons: The driveway! Staff attitude - only one member of staff Heat the pool Add a bar fridge & aircon More furniture needed in room
Location: Blue Route shopping centre Tokai forest Golf course Wine estate
Couldn't risk parking on the grounds. When we arrived I stopped our car outside and rang the bell. The gate opened and I drove in - scrape - the front bumper ruined. The receptionist basically told me it was my fault - no apology - how rude is that? If you look at the angle of the short ramp to the gate you will see why a normal car can't avoid scraping it's front - there have been numerous scrapes damaged vehicles - see the evidence in the deep grooves in the tarmac and compare this to the ramp next door. I then parked outside to avoid further damage - not a good to have to do this. This opening experience, together with the surly, rude attitude of the member of staff tainted the rest of our stay. Good breakfasts - good selection. Although chaotic when all guests arrive at the same time - the kitchen was under siege one morning. Pool in shade in the afternoon - did not use in the January heatwave. Room OK, but no fridge or aircon. Or view. And not anywhere to put a bag - found myself scrabbling around on the floor a lot. And only one chair in the room. Maybe we were given a duff room - we were told our room was allocated based on other guests getting up early for golf. We were up before them most days. I think they just wanted to please one group of guests, and never mind us. Well, I probably won't be staying here again - that's the way my cookie crumbles!

Cute accommodation tucked away in residential areaPosted Jan 29, 2015
Very pleasant bungalow style accommodation nestled away in a residential part of Tokai. Close to large shopping mall. Very good value for money. No air conditioning but supplied fan kept us cool.

A Wonderful PlacePosted Jan 2, 2015 on Hotels
Monrningside Cottage is an eight suite/room B&B in a pleasant neighborhood 20 minutes from downtown Cape Town. The motorway/freeway is a mere 3 minute drive from the B&B making most attractions easily accessible. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Breakfasts were fantastic with an ample buffet and a very tasty breakfast menu (freshly made). The pool was clean and refreshing. The room did not have air conditioning, but the cool evenings helped keep the room comfortable. Morningside is a family friendly while still being quiet and relaxing. Morningside will be at the top of our list if/when we return to the Cape Town area.

Pros: The breakfast!
Location: Live in CT so was just a getaway
Lovely little place and we really enjoyed it. Staff was very helpful and breakfast was wonderful. Bed was pretty uncomfortable but other than that the room and bathroom was gorgeous. Would definitely go back.

OKPosted Nov 25, 2015 on Hotels
