Wonderful hotel staff

Posted Jan 11, 2017
Pros: View of Table Mountain and the wonderful hotwl staff.
Excellent pick up service at airport by very polite and friendly hotel staff. All staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast buffet was large and included warm and cold options. Location is walking distance to Long Street shops and restaurants, inexpnsive cab fare to V&A Waterfront. Lovely views of Table Mountain from our guest room and rooftop bar on 11th floor. Extremely windy during our stay on 10th floor which caused furniture movement on outer patio above us during the night. Hop on hop off bus tours in the city are an excwllent way to see the city.

Positives: Great location. Stunning views from Pool deck area. Fantastic staff. Great breakfast. Great WiFi. Big rooms. Modern anday aesthetically appealing. Negatives: Pool size small - more a splash Pool. Daily parking expensive. More suitable for business travellers due to its inner city location.

Good location

Posted Dec 13, 2016
The check in experience at this hotel was excellent. Clear, concise, helpful and friendly. They even served a cold iced tea which was refreshing while we waited for our room key. Room cleanliness was okay and nothing special but the daily room service was somewhat of a letdown. During the week we routinely had to contact housekeeping as pillow cases weren't changed, rooms were left half cleaned and the soap wasn't topped up once. The biggest letdown at this hotel is the breakfast. Poor choices on offer and on one occasion a standoff with a very rude member of staff at the omelette counter. Having made my order and despite no one being around the female employee began to cook the omelettes. I waited patiently and when I noticed the omelettes were ready I was bluntly told by the member of staff they weren't for me. If there's one thing I cannot abide it is being lied to straight to my face. This almost left me in a rage as no one else had ordered anything at the time but for some reason this member of staff too it upon herself to give my food to someone else. I wouldn't mind but I had requested very politely the omelette order and waited with a smile on my face. The most positive aspect of this hotel was the rooftop bar Haralds with its breathtaking view and brilliant members of staff. Arnold the waiter was fantastic and really made us feel special. We were sad to leave on our last night as we said our goodbyes to him and his fantastic team.

Hotel close to conference centre

Posted Nov 19, 2016
Very nice hotel and staff. But avoid the top floor if you want to have a good sleep in the morning. Cleaning staff move chairs and tables at 6AM and it creates a massive noise in the top floor and it is impossible to sleep. Made several complaints and hotel staff are unable to do anything. This is a real shame as the hotel is otherwise good.

Decent for the price

Posted Nov 13, 2016
Hotel staff with some language barriers. Hotel restaurant lacking overall. Room was ok, requested twin beds and was given a room with two twin beds. Was not horrible but not impressive or amazing either... Charges extra to extend checkout to 2pm, booked shuttle to airport and was not told there was a few, which was 3x the local uber price.

A nice city centre hotel

Posted Nov 11, 2016
Location: Handy for the waterfront, (app. 15 minute walk). After dark the walk back may be somewhat intimidating, so the answer is to take a taxi back.
A typical fairly comfortable hotel room. Excellent friendly and helpful staff The car parking is good value for money for a city centre. However to reach the car parking area on the 1st and 2nd floors was via an extremely steep ramp which some people may find very off-putting

Good but not great

Posted Oct 23, 2016
Pros: Staff and Buffet
1. Breakfast buffet is great 2. Hotel staff are lovely 3. Shuttle service is good but can be inconvenient as there is only one Van 4. Location is about a 5 minute drive from VA Waterfront. Not bad but I would stay somewhere closer in the future 5. Room was a great size. Bed was comfortable. Shower was dirty and needed an upgrade. Needed shower shoes. Overall not a bad pick but would chose another hotel if available!

Park Inn Heerengracht Cape Town

Posted Sep 26, 2016
Pros: The staff were wonderful, and the room was large, including the en suite.
Cons: The draw curtains were see-through not giving my privacy or darkness at bedtime.
Location: Cape Town foreshore - short drive or taxi trip to the V&A Waterfront, also to Table Mountain and Camps Bay.
Very nice experience, the staff were so friendly - they could not help enough to make me welcome and comfortable. Right down to the house keeping delivering an iron and ironing board the next morning. The room was large and clean and had a balcony overlooking the mountain. Very comfortable. The only downside was some street noise early evening but it quietened down after 10pm.

Close to town and a major convention centre

Posted Sep 7, 2016
Pros: Location and food. Staff are very pleasant as well.
Cons: Services are poor, and they need a significant improvement.
Location: Very close to town and shopping areas. Also close to a major convention center if one is going for a conference.
Location wise, very good. Also a very safe hotel compared to several others in town where thefts were reported during our stay. The only negative point is the amenities in the room in terms of toiletries, tea/coffee etc. which are minor things and the hotel can easily improve upon these. The restaurant is also very good in terms of food quality but again the service is very poor. Overall, a good experience but it could be better.
