Great location! Poor service!

Great Location. Room wasn't ready on arrival. Reception ladies were friendly but exceptionally slow. No porter was available to show me to the room. The keys didn't work! Neat spacious rooms but not one picture on the walls. Housekeeping kept leaving 3 towels instead of 4 and never replaced the coffee. Don't take the "inclusive" breakfast its not worth the time or the money! Loads of great coffee shops around where your R170.00 will be way more appreciated

Our room was a king suite. The bed was great but there was no other furniture in the room. Our room was next to housekeeping And yet there was an issue with cleanliness and items that were left in the cupboard from the last person. The pool and desk staff were great

A good hotel but needs to sort out some issues

Pros: Great location. Good pool and modern rooms with good facilities and comfortable beds.
Cons: As previously highlighted.
Location: Close to Cape Town and to areas such as Camps Bay for restaurants, bars and attractive beaches.
We have stayed many times at the President and have always enjoyed our visits. So much so that we have recommended the hotel to friends & family in the UK but were disappointed this time with the lack of towels in our room on checking in (after a long haul flight) and throughout our stay. The breakfast service was also poor and there was a general lack of customer service. However, this was mentioned to the GM and he did seem to take our comments on board so hopefully these issues will be quickly resolved.

Double check your reservation before you arrive

I booked a 2 room suite as we had family staying. I was called with 30 mins of having landed in CT to be told there was a problem and they could only give me a one room booking, but they would not charge me, and would give me complimentary dinner and drinks vouchers. Despite me accepting on the proviso that room could sleep 4, there was only a single room reserved when we arrived. They did however arrange a second room for the other part of our family. It was just a hassle having to move the next day. Ross made me easy of booking through Hotel.com. The setting is fantastic as is the location, and the staff are wonderful.

Sad it didn't live up to expectations

An easy place to access with plenty of parking. Nearby shops and restaurant easy walking distance (Goloso an Italian eating place). We stayed in a suite which had plenty of room, microwave and kitchen sink in the kitchenette. Downsides: 1)Only enough cutlery and crockery for 2 people - no other utensils, washing up liquid, tea towels. 2)when there was an outage (power cut) one could only eat at the buffet (R200) regardless of how little you wanted to eat. 3) Room service gave different prices for a burger and the room info gave another. 4) One evening a long dog was ordered - sausage part very thin whilst the large bread roll was hard and dry. When we complained to the restaurant manager he said it would be removed from our bill. It wasn't. There seemed too few staff on duty to cope with the number of people in the restaurant. Would we stay again - I doubt it.
